Will they make her go home?

A Muslim teen has run away from home saying she converted to christianity and her father threatened to kill her. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/09/03/muslim.convert/index.html The court is going to decide if she should go home or be allowed to stay in Florida. What do you think? Will they fear Muslim anger and make her go home? Will they have anti-christian sentiment and make her go home?

well friend, only one party will be happy either the girl or her father. When many hindus are converting into christianty then why not a muslim can convert into Christain. The decision to convert is upto that particular individual and this freedom must be given to any person. I favour the girls decision and if she wishes to convert then she should be allowed to convert. In my view, god is same for all and we humans have created different religions, castes and fighting..

I believe that it should be a human right to choose our own religion. But sadly in some counties that is not the case.

I saw a report on the news this evening that she's going to have to go back to Ohio but she will be in the custody of children's services there. The parents have undergone psychological testing. From what I've heard and read down here, this case doesn't hinge entirely on the religious aspects. The goal when it comes to minors is to reunite them with their families if it's at all possible. Unfortunately, with no evidence of abuse the judge really had no choice.

It seems that a Muslim that converts runs the risk of being killed. I think they call it "mercy killing." In Muslim countries anyone that kills someone that has converted is not punished at all. This crime is overlooked and tolerated as acceptable.

In Egypt, it is a crime for a Christian to preach to a Muslim.

I believe that the father will try to hurt her because of the conversion, so i hope that the courts let her decide where she wants to stay, and that they do not make her go back home.

i dont think she will get hurt! her father must understand there's only one God no matter the religion

i agree there is only one god, regardless of which religion we follow. even if we believe in the darker side of things like psychic's they still have angels and they answer to god. to me it's all the same just different in how we do things like pray and attending services etc.

I fear what her consequences may be if she returns home. most likely the community there will have harsh punishments that will not be worth making her go home.
