Please help this kid overcome the stupidity of our school systems

Okay, we have an Eagle scout, he has a 2 inch knife locked in his survival kit in his car. He has already saved someone's life. He wants to go to West Point.
The geniuses at his school have suspended him for 20 days. They want to apply the policy consistently, no matter the circumstance. This may prevent him from going attending West Point.
Once again the stupidity of people in charge have reared their ugly heads.
What do you think? Does Zero-tolerance cause a shut down of the brain?
If you care to help this kid...write a note to West Point at admissions@usma.edu to express your concern that this kids dreams maybe jeopardized because of his schools stupid mistake.

It seems like society cannot think beyond what is on paper. They for some reason cannot use common sense. I hope they let him go back.

I have zero tolerance for this kind of stupidity. This is very serious, and the question to ask, where are we going in our country?....no knife in survival kit?

What I don't understand is how the USA thinks it can have a Zero Tolerence policy, yet also have The Second Ammendment!!! for a culture that seems to embrace weapon ownership, they sure don't understand the bloody consequences.
