I have a problem I dont have any... Im 29 about to be 30 and I still havent gone to school yet. Im like a kid really, when I want to do something one week I change my mind the next week..its really hectic and annoying! I have a 9 year old, A man and a baby on the way.... My man is telling me to go to school and be somebody so I can help US get stronger, so I can be the person I want to be. But who do I want to be...that is the question! I didnt have good support in my family, when I didnt go to college...they just didnt say nothing...but of course they didnt have money to put me in one.. My man says if I dont got nothing going on for me educationaly my son and future son are not going to go to college either. I always think that I got a problem, that I always saw myself being a stay at home mom and my man supporting me, but thats not how it is nowadays. Im scared to go to school! Im not smart enough:( Does anyone else have the same problem...or am I the only one??? Please NO DRAMA!

I guess I should thank you for the award first :) But anyway, this is not important. Let me ask you something... What do you mean by 'not being smart' ?

Are you sure? I don't think you have been in school because you have this posted discussion. I must disagree with your statement that you are not smart enough and you are afraid to go to school. I don't think school must matter the person that must intelligent or smart. You are going to school to gain knowledge.

i achieved alot of what i wanted to do like get married, have a child, buy a home, experience buying a brand new car, learn how to drive. i still have goals like losing weight and going back to work when my son is grown so i can make things better for us financially. i give myself goals each and everyday and i meet them to make the next day easier. if i don't i am a bit disappointed but there is always tomorrow.

I like your goals. but do you work? I told my man that my goal is to have a family and raise our kid at home. But he says thats not enough and that its not the 50s anymmore...I shouldnt stay at home. But what I dont get is that when I first met him he DID want me to stay at home when we had a kid. Now that the days are hectic with money, he wants me to help him financially. Which sucks!

Everything in relation to computers! I'm trying to get into the industry but it is so hard. I'm continuing with my studies in IT and I am stockpiling the certifications and the only problem is, I don't have an IT job! I don't have any customers! I'm looking into the idea of fixing people's computers for them and dealing with their IT problems but things are not that easy. I have a few ambitions and goals that I would like to achieve over the coming years and hopefully things will start to improve real soon! In relation to your own plans, you are definitely smart enough, you just have to apply yourself and decide if college is really what you want, if it is then you should really go for it. Good luck. Well, good luck, but sorry to disappoint you, things are not working exactly like this. You are here in a polarized world where everything has its opposite good bad black white woman man up down yin yang. And you are here to get knowledge, to gather information. So you will have to experiment both sides of the coin in order to know them. Therefore you will meet evil because otherwise you cannot know good in it's entire complexity. And it's not a matter of how you prepare yourself and your life. The Universe has its ways and you will experiment evil whether you want it or not. Nobody escaped from it. What is important is not to be scared of the bad parts. There are included in life and after a while you will eventually understand that good and bad are the same thing just expressed in 2 different forms. And it always depends on who is observing what is good and what is bad and who set the border line between the two.

Your man is right in motivating you. However, if you don't want to go to school, you can try and get books and read pleanty of good material and enhance your knowledge. You can concentrate on your child, get him books that suit his age, read through them first and pass on your knowledge to him.You can devote your time to training him ; for this you have to educate yourself a lot. Some skills must be known in life for your future generation to succeed.YOu can still find out means and ways of training that child well, by interacting with others who can guide you about the good school for children etc.It does not matter if you have not gone to school and lack a bit of confidence.Your confidence would improve only if you have some skills. You can concentrate on some handwork, decoration, craft or even cooking and try to excel in this.

I graduated with an Associate Degree in Data Processing in 1987, from a Business School that accelerates the learning process. I remember Windows 1.0 was just being released and the technological marvel of the day was the Intel 286. Windows quickly took over, and though I got to use some PC DOS (pre-Windows) programs a little professionally, Windows and Office came soon after that, and I ended up teaching myself what I needed to know to function adequately. What is it you need help in? English? Math? Did you graduate from high school? If not, a GED will be the first step. I have no idea about the program, though I would hope that it would teach the bare minimum required for further education if it is really necessary. Otherwise maybe you can see about programs available to help strengthen the areas you are weak in. Maybe all you need is to do is review subjects at home? I'm a bit confused as to why your sons won't go to college if you don't ... Sorry that I have more questions than answers.

I need help in Math...I'm pretty much in...which I'm embarrassed to say that im stuck in elementary school math...I'm LD in that. Its sooo hard for me to remember numbers. Yes I graduated from HS..thank god! About my son not going to college, well that's what my man is telling me that because my parents didn't go to college I didn't go to college...which is not true at all...this was MY decision..if they went to college great for them..but I would of not gone to college if they did. I just hate school, I didn't have good times in school. So he says because they didn't go to school that I didn't go to school, so if I don't go to school then my son is gonna see that and not want to go to school either. Which my son is 9 years old...and he talks about being a doctor.

as i read through your problem the first thing i felt as your problem is that you lack self confidence.." im scared to go to school" why should you be scraed..? are there any ghosts there? i think your man is saying the right thing to get you motivated..if u learn something u can help your country a lot..but if you are not really interested about your country think about yourselves..your family..what would your children think about a mom who has not gone to college...and i promise you..if you go to school ..it will be lot of fun..you will get lots of good friends..you will get to learn many more new things..you can enjoy life better.. happy mylotting and happy school days..God bless ya.. a school going guy

when I said that im scared to go to school is because I have LD in math, and I have Social Phobia which means I dont like to be in crowded places where I have to talk to pplz at the same time. Also about presentations...thats another BIG issue for me...I hate it...and im not like a person who just sweats...cuz i know some pplz get nervous. Not me I get like a panic attack. Thats why im scared to go to school again...plus I hated it in HS. But I know i have to, just scared :(

I’m in similar situation. I moved to the uk, but I had no degree of uk. I’m planning to go a university to get a degree, but I hesitated to do it too. There are a few reasons: going to university is expensive and takes time. I already have got a degree in my country do I really need one from the UK. Last but not least I’m fed up with the life as a student. So now I’m still looking for my solution or direction in this country.it seems I’m wasting my life. Just with my English can get improved during the non-destination period.

I don't know if Im going to like being a student, I havent been a student in HS over almost 10 years! Im going to be 30 and I would like to stay at home with my kids like I planned, but my bf wants me to go to college or just take a class so when we get married we'll be straight financially. He also says if something happens to him then I will survive, and not run to my moms house so she can support me.

Everybody in their life, will have the ambition. They will struggle for it to reach the target. I am not exclusion from this concept. Even i have ambition. I am taking step for it. From my childhood, i have an ambition, I am directing my life towards it. My ambition is to become a professor in medical college. Towards that i have moved my life. I studied M.Sc and then finished M.Phil, now trying for P.hd, then will try for PDF in abroad university. Then only i can reach my target to become an professor in medical college. Before trying for the job, I want to qualify myself. Then only i can easily reach my target. Hope one fine day i will reach the target. That day is nearing to me, it is not too far. Like this everybody will have the ambition and trying for it also. For those my wishes All the best. Keep trying sure You will reach the target. Bye

I can understand your situation. If you have not gone to the school or touched the textbooks for a long time, It is very normal to have the feeling of uncertainties and being underconfident. Actually this is why people find hard to learn something when they graduate from the college and school and begin to work. IMO, you can try to find something interesting and some subjects you want to learn. The best way to achieve this is learning in the school. In college and university you will contact different people and ideas; you will find the world is more exciting and full of colorful things. Through your effort in the college you can learn something useful and find your own ambition. When you graduate from the college, you would be more confident in your future. You will find a job and support the family. It could be better than your current situation.

Lxandra, if you don't want to/ are scared to go to school, then DON' T! Do it if you want to get knowledge or there is a strong motivation of your inner person. Otherwise, stay at home and be a good Mom. Your kids will prefer a loving and present Mom then a student Mom. And I want to hear who is saying that being a Mom is not a full time job? And who's saying that being a good Mom and raising healthy, intelligent and beloved kids is not a help for a stronger country? It's equally helpful as education. What I think is not helpful at all is constrain. Do whatever your heart desires, Lxandra. You have this right by birth. And if your heart says nothing for the moment, don't worry. Do nothing. Remember that something cannot exist without nothing. Something is born from nothing as the sound is born from silence. But keep walking, keep asking questions... one day you will hear your heart.

I think maybe you are not suitable to go to full time college again, now you have your family and you also have a baby too...if you go to full time colleage, can anybody in your family help you to take care your baby? but if you want to get more education, maybe you can find a part time college school, if this, you can use your spare time to get more knowledge, and you will not feel boring again. another point, I think you can find a job but not difficult for you to qualify, before this, you must try your best to break your bad habit of easying to change your ideas. you can try to make a decision by yourself, but remind you always that you don't to change that till you finish this work. maybe it's hard for me in the beginning, but pls stick it out, I believe you can sucess in the future as your hard working,,,Go ahead and good luck....
