Do you think the heart remembers?

I was really thinking about this after watching an episode of a detective drama. The case was about this lady who recently got a heart transplant. Right after that she started having the same nightmare about a pair of hands strangling her. She also developed some habits and used terms that were unfamiliar to her. It got so bad that she went to the police and stated that her heart was telling her that its previous owner was murdered (the original owner supposedly committed suicide while in the hospital). No one believed her except for the main female protagonist who took the case. Anyways, she discovered that the weird term that she kept on saying was actually some secret code that the heart's previous owner used with her son. It was their secret that no one else knew. And it was discovered that the lady did not die of a suicide. She was actually strangled by her doctor, who was out for fame because the lady had a unique blood condition. After the truth was revealed, the lady no longer had any of those nightmares. I was really fixated with this for a while because I saw this episode right after coming back from my psychology class. I'm wondering if something like this is even possible. Does anyone know if there have been cases like this mentioned before?

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I saw a special on the discovery channel once about that topic. It had a woman who had a lung transplant having dreams about the previous owner of the lungs. Other people who had transplants had dreams of their previous owners deaths. It was a strange show that I watched with my mom years ago.

Hi jenlex79, thanks for the response. I didn't know there was a special about it on the Discovery Channel. I must have missed it or something. I honestly don't know if it's believable or not either. It just sounds so extraordinary.

Oh, the special I watched on Discovery Channel was on over 14 years ago. I can't remember the title of that show though. I would like to see it again.

Ok, I had to search the internet for the documentary and I found it. Go to youtube and type in "transplanting memories". It is a documentary on this subject and it includes the story of the woman I mentioned who had the lung transplant(actually, it was a heart and lung transplant. It is very interesting, if you have any time I suggest for you to watch it.

That is so true. There are many unexplainable things out there after all.
