What qualities do you look for in a good Political Party?

I quit looking for honesty and integrity because neither side is big on those. I'd join up with a party that doesn't make empty promises or inflates the ego of their party's nomination. One that respects the opinions and views of all, not just those they agree with.

Well a political party is only as good as its members. I firmly believe in the principles that the Republican party is based on, but then there are far too many members of that party that have failed to live up to those principles such as smaller government and lower taxes. Libertarians appear to be better at living up to those principles, but then there are far fewer to judge the party by and none hold very high positions in the political arena except Ron Paul, who is listed as a republican.
