upon a red wheelbarrow. very famous poem that always recives mixed responses - some think it is beautiful and some people think it is simplistic [i am with the former btw]. can you think of a poem that has had similar responses?

Hello, Judith. Sorry, it doesn't do anything for me. I like my poetry to rhyme. One of my favourites is 'Daffodils' by Wordsworth, and that gets mixed responses. Some people say it must have been written by his sister, Dorothy, as it is nothing like any of his other works. I just love the imagery and the rhyme scheme, and I think, why shouldn't Wordsworth have written something completely different? Isn't that what great writers do?

Oh well, Judith, at least we can agree to differ, as we are adults. Unlike a certain person who is doing his level best to upset our lovely Greek friend. Poetry is very subjective, I think, more so than prose and what floats one boat won't even achieve lift off for another person.

hi jb a small piece of a poem came to me tarred and feathered and carried in a cart, by the wonderful women of Marblehead. ugh. I just simply cannot remember the rest of it, but am under the impression that these so called wonderful women believed the poor man had demons or something of that nature in him, anyway I never saw anything wonderful about those women. he he he.

Yes, but it is a word I cannot say. So...I'll just call it History Mystery. And there is one I heard Mel Gibson quote in Man Without A Face (excellent movie, by the way): Oh, wet pet! It was about a goldfish, of course. Short, descriptive, unique. Hm, pets...hm, Oh, funny bunny! or... Oh, fat cat!
