I think you are right only problem is that the noise outside do not stop until the fireworks do and that is at 2am.

Like during Christmas, I am busy together with my family on new years eve preparation. We wait for 12 midnight to arrive. I read books or watch television or listen to music just to do not feel bored. We do not expect any visitors during that time, it is simple a family's get together waiting for New Year to arrive. I also do send message to my friends, because it will be very difficult to send message when it is near 12 midnight that time, so I send my greetings earlier.

I don't do a darn thing! I just stay home and really do nothing! I have not been out for New Year's Eve in like forever! I don't see the point of going out and partying! I think people are nuts to do that! I also know I'm safe and sound at home! I don't have worry about drunk drivers!

You are right there as well asb you get to save alot of money as alot of people tend to end up spending more as it costs soo much as well as places charge you to go in.There are always fights that break out as well every year as people cause alot of trouble after they have had a few too many drinks.

Last year my husband and one of our friends had dinner at a Chinese restaurant. It was a bit of a strange experience, because the restaurant was almost empty. Most the staff left the restaurant while we were eating as they had nothing to do. Afterwards we went back to the village where we live, and had a few drinks and chatted for a while. At midnight we went out to watch the fireworks. I am not sure what we are going to do this year. I thought that our friend would join us again like he usually does, but he said that he might spend the night at a single party instead. If he makes other plans my husband and I have talked about doing something different as well. We would like to spend the night at a hotel in a different part of the country.

We get together with friends and have a small party, and we usually watch the ball drop in new york on the tv. I always get a call from each of my kids at midnight.

We usually have a small gathering of family and friends. We have finger foods to eat and drinks of all kind. We watch the ball fall in New York on TV and have music playing. We talk, dance and wish for a better year to come. I end up going to bed about 3 in the morning. I remember one year when my girls were alot younger we were all in Pj's with the food and drinks but we played games all night. The girls were not feeling so good so instead of having people over that is how we spent New Years Eve.

We used to have lots of people come round here and see the new year in but that was a bit hectic as there were laods of children that were tired and grumpy as well as a lot of mess left to clean up.
