When I watch TV, I watch songs most of the time. I see many people making calls to TV stations asking for songs. Thare are people who make calls often. I have never made such a call. What about you? Have you ever made a call to a radio or TV station for songs? How was the experience?

Yes I have tried to a lot of time to a radio station for some song requests but could never get through. After some days they started an offer that I could just post a letter with my mobile number and they would call me back. I posted to the address of the station and forgot about it. After 6 days a call came from the station at the time of the program and they asked me to choose a song from one album of my choice that will be played next and also told me to give some intro of myself when I am asked to do it on air. After that RJ started talking on air with me, and I was really happy to listen to my favorite song as well as my voice on radio. It was a completely different kind of experience. Though I have participated in some programs in front of full audience but I could never forget that.

Hi ample: nice story. I felt really embarrased (but at the same time satisfied) when i heard my voice on the radio asking for my song and saying hi to the audience, that was the best part of it.

Yes I tried to call a radio sation a once a long time ago, but I never got through to the station, the reason I called was to win this contest, I was trying to answer a trivia question that the radio station had, but like said I never got through to anyone, that was really lame coz I would have won the contest too because I knew the answer.

Once my sister tried to make a call to a TV station since they announced gifts to everybody calling in that particular period of time. She tried a lot of times, but she couldn't get through. I think when there is a contest or prize lots of people try to call at the same time and it is difficult to get through. Thanks for the response.

Yes, I have before and the DJ was so sweet, kind and polite. I manage to say out what I wanted to, and got my dedication across.

No, I never call radio or TV station to ask for a song to somebody. I'm not used to it. But I think it's a good way to give a blessing to your family or friends.

About 10 years back, when the local cable operator started his own channel, I did give it a try. The anchor was so nervous that I was guiding him how to conduct the show and that too " on air" !!!!!! That was the only time I tried and I never had the time nor the inclination to give another try. Though, I must add, that I once did try for the CNBC TV18 and got through. And they were very professional. The experience was good.

Twice I've called radio stations: the first time was for a blueberry muffin recipe. The second time, a song was playing, and I just KNEW it was so-and-so and my bf KNEW it was so-and-so, so we made a bet: the loser had to give the other head for a 1/2 hour straight. So we called the radio station, explained the bet, the dj laughed his a$$ off (the song was still playing) he said okay. I'll settle your bet after the song. So the song ends, and the dj comes back on the air and says, "Well, David will be enjoying himself for the next 30 minutes, because the artist who performed that last song is so-and-so. (laughs) Have fun, David and Lori."It's a good thing I'm a good loser.:D

When I was a teenager I called in to a radio station a couple of times and requested a song be played. The radio station in question had about a 4 hour block each week night where someone would call in and request a song, and then dedicate it to someone if they wanted to. I think I called around three times during a couple of years time, and it was funny because people I didn't even know listened to that radio station would come up to me and tell me they heard me talking on the radio the night before.

hello, daliaj, long time no see. in fact, i'm the same as u. just watch and listen, and never call once. but the most impressive memory for me now is when in the university. grade 1 or 2, without computer in the dorm, so i took the radio with me almost all the spare time. and most of the time, listen to the musics other called for. now, dont do it any more. ahaha...

Hi daliaj! I think I tried it twice, when I was still in college. The first time was when my friends and I were having a group study at one of my friend's house and they asked me to call the radio station and request for a song and at the same time greet them. The initial plan was just to leave a greeting but then the DJ pleaded me to greet on air so I did, LOL! It was really embarassing and I kind of regretted it afterwards, LOL. But that was like a million years ago so I got over it now. Hehehe! The second time was when I was in my room studying and I was really craving for Michelle Branch's Goodbye To You so I called the radio station and requested for the song. Unfortunately, the DJ played a different song (but still one of Michelle Branch's). It was really disappointing! I didn't bother calling again coz I found it not worth it already. Heheheh!

I have called radio stations on several occasions to request songs or ask a question or whatever. I remember the first time I ever called a station, it was WJR radio in Detroit Michigan. I wanted to ask something of the famous radio personality J.P. McCarthy and I expected to only talk to a call screener and he would relay my question. I was quite taken aback when Mr. McCarthy answered the phone himself and I was talking to him directly, but he was very nice and answered my question on the air. It was an interesting experience. I have called other stations since then but have never had the radio personality answer the phone. I've never called a TV station though and I would expect it would be much harder to get through or get on the air even during a live show and there are few of those today. Most of them are taped and aired later. There are some programs that invite viewer interaction, though it's mostly by email and I have done that also, but not very often. [;-)

I called the radio station where my husband works out and had dedicated a song to him. He had proposed the night before and I said yes. His best friend was on air and I had requested the song "When I Say I Do" by Clint Black. His best friend was happy to do it.

I made a call to our local radio station when i was still a teenager together with my friends we requested a love song during valentines day..then as the song ended up..another friend of mine call again..thus the song being requested by friend is being play again.and the deejay exclaim that he is surprise that all the request is the same song tittle. My friends do it out of curiosity as we really like the voice of the Deejay. Their are times when my friends even go to the radio station to see in personal the handsome Deejay..so we all giggles having to see him and ask for our favorite song to be play while we go inside the booth talking to the Deejay personally..

Hi daliaj, Yes, I did this back in my college days. There was a new FM station in my town and we were all excited because the DJ (disk jockey) was a cutie. So my friends and I joined his show by calling and requesting for our favorite song. I was the one tasked to talk to the DJ on air. Well, he interviewed me first, then asked me if I wanted to greet anyone, (and I did greet all my friends who were around me while talking over the phone) then I gave him the title of the song that I wanted to hear (it was actually my friends' request). He even asked me why I wanted that song or if it has significance in my life. It was fun hearing myself talk on the radio. After that my friends finally had the courage to go on air as well.
