As for as I am concerned, I have travelled in a conducted tour bus continuously for six days stopping in between to visit temples and site seeing places of four states i.e. Karnataka, Andhra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala of India and we have covered about 45 temples and few site seeing places in between. Two days we had even night travel. How about you, what is the longest journey you have undertaken?

That's impressive, even with stops I think six days is too much, the longest travel I remembered that I did was only for 12 hours on a bus also and I can't really stand remaining seated the whole time so I have to stand up once in a while to ease the pain in my butt. :)

Even for me it was paining. Whenever the bus stopped for visit, I could not immediately get up and walk. After coming back I fell sick for one full month with severe hip pain, high fever and chest cold due to different water and different weather. Now I decided not to travel like that. May be I am too weak to bear the strain.

Yes it is a long journey. When I travelled from Varanasi to Chennai, it was two nights and one and a half days. First day we did not get sleeper and had to sit through the night. It was horrible journey for all of us.

Be careful friend, Especially the person who is driving should take good rest in between. All the lives are in your hand.

While reading itself it looks so amused. I am sure you would have enjoyed well. We need such trips now and then to relax ourselves is it not?

The longest journey I have ever travelled is from Kuala Lumpur to San Francisco with stopover at Zurich. That was my first oversea trip, besides Singapore. It was an eighteen-hour long journey.I went there alone on business trip to set up a plating line in Santa Clara. With regards to guided tour bus, it was with my wife from Rome to Amsterdam passing through Vatican City,Vienna, Liechtenstein, Mt. Titlis in Switzerland, Paris then north to Luxembourg , Germany down to Brussel and to Amsterdam. Altogether we toured 10 countries by tour bus in 15 days. Hectic, but happy experience.

Vav! All good places in 15 days, must have been very enjoyable right? Your first overseas trip must have given you jet log for 18 hours long journey.

Hello Buchi_bulla. The longest journey I travelled is about 20 hours ride on the train many years ago when the service was not as good. Year by year the train speed has been increased. Now it takes me only twelve hours on an express train between my hometown and my workplace. Of course, if I take a plane, it is only 1.3 hours. I still miss the two flights I have ever had in the past few years.

Was that 20 hours journey day journey or night journey? If it is night journey, we can spend many hours sleeping or at least lie down and take rest. If it is day journey, then whole journey we have to be awake and sit and travel.

Hi Buchi, My longest journey is from Kerala to Delhi in train (reach in Delhi on third day). I was very excited to seen the different places on my first journey. You too know that Kerala Express is crossing through many Indian states so the journey is really an exciting one all the time. On every visit to my native place, I really enjoying the train journey, because there is no tension about house hold works, office works etc.

Very true Srikala, this relief from house work and office work is great. Not that we do not want to work but we need a change in between from this monotonous work.
