Seems so many people are bad now and not enough are good, what do you think changed that allowed this to happen?

I think collectively our morals are getting better rather than worse. We used to kill people for public entertainment in centuries past. Even 60 years ago it was acceptable to segregate people based on race, to sterilize the mentally ill against their will, or to shun kids who had grown up in one-parent families. I'd personally rather live in this time period. I've also noticed that if you truly keep track of how many people were polite to you and how many were rude to you during the course of a day, the polite people usually win out. I think humans have a tendency to remember slights longer, so the rude ones stand out in our memories more.

You know I'm the first one to say that everything is a matter of perspective and I appreciate yours immensely. Thank you for shedding new light on an old topic. And honestly, I couldn't agree more. Thank you for your enlightening response! + for you! :)

It's interesting to see how social trends have changed over the years. Morals are the same way: what is socially accepted now has not always been, it's just that many things have now become acceptable behavior. I personally think that many things are okay as long as no one is being hurt. I also worry that in some ways the extreme right is trying to take things the other way.

yes, I would have to agree with your comments. Social trends have changed a lot over the years. A lot of things that were not accepted back then are being accepted now. In some cases people are getting hurt and others they are not.

blame MTV...ha... there are a lot of shows on MTV that while they are entertaining, they don't necessarily teach kids to have good morals...then again television shows shouldn't be responsible for teaching kids, parents should be teaching their kids... so blame PARENTS...

Well, morales change all the time, and it really depends on how far back you want to go. I am not so sure that bad people outnumber good though. It is hard to get a clear picture with the data available being so biased. Personally I know lots of great people, but very few bad ones. I media, however, the bad or abnormal/immoral have a much higher frequency, so which am I to believe? Either way I will have to take it on faith. Some would say that we are beyond good and evil, and in a realist perspective I would have to agree, but those who fail to recognise the two are usually termed psychopats, and there are still very few of those.

Every bad custom spread by this way: 'Gradually' Starts with Forbidden leads to, it can be leads to, why not! Also, now money changes many people's mind they prefer to gain money by any way and no respect for morals any more.
