What are tasks?

I've just recently started getting back into mylot. I usually go through my interests and reply to discussions. I always make sure I add tags. I've uploaded a picture of my cat in the cat discussion area. Today I was looking at my earnings and there participation, referrals and tasks. Can anyone tell me what tasks are? Also any thing I'm missing that I should be doing? Also I'd like to know what everyones routine is in regard to mylot. What do you do to earn money here, be as specific as you can, that will really help me and others that read this. Thanks so much
