The days are shorter, the nights are a bit cooler and so, can Christmas be far behind? It's the most awaited season of the year. It's time for giving and sharing of gifts, of family and friends, Christmas lights and Christmas trees. Have you decorate your home already with Christmas decor and Christmas trees? As we knew, as early as September we already decorate our home. They say that, FIlipinos celebrate the season a long duration.

We haven't decorated our home yet with Christmas decors. We're yet to look for a new Christmas tree. Usually we don't prepare our house for Christmas not until Halloween is over. And Halloween is fast approaching. After that, it's decor time!!! shadow41

I am a Filipina based here in the US. I had my christmas tree middle of October while outside are my Halloween decors...it's quite odd, but i just missed home (Philippines) so badly especially on Holiday Season so I decided to put up my tree as early as October, and i have to admit that i find a little comfort having my tree light up at night. And right now i'm planning to start looking for some stuffs to wrap as christmas presents...I just so love Christmas...just the thought of me is enough to make me smile. ;0)

Exactly Feodda. Christmas back home is way much different from christmas here. I still remember before atleast 2 months before christmas everyone would put on the decorations inside and outside their house, and even the streets has colorful decors too, and the food, oh man nothing compares...People back home would think that it's nice here because of the snow? i tell you, snow is only good to look at & play with but having snow for 3 or 4 months is not good at all, it's a burden! it's making our life here even hard...therefore, i say, it's still good to be home. But sad to say, the reality, how the economy is suffering right now, we have to sacrificed leaving home & look for a better future and hopefully by the time we're ready to be home again, everything will be fine already. In God's time... ;)

I am in the United States and my family doesnt start to decorate until after thanksgiving. My parents are senior citizens and so we do not put a large tree up like we use to. We put some lights on the front of the house and a small table sized tree. We also add small decorations around the house such as my mothers Santa collection and we string the Christmas cards that we have received up in the house.

I decorate full Christmas decoration after the all souls day. Then have to all year round decoration which is like the Christmas light and the Christmas wreath stayon the door all year round. Then, the Christmas tree is the same and just buy added decorations or improvise to make it appear new again. Christmas spirit is a blast when the ber seasons start as every family is excited to experience the big events. Christmas tree is always visible and never throw it away although it is been a recycle for years then have to reuse it again then add design to make it new again.

I havent put my christmas tree up as yet. I just got a new one last week. I usually setup the tree in December, but last year did it a bit early around mid November. The lights and the rest of the decorations are usually put around a week before christmas. I havent planned anything about when Ill be doing it this year, I might start sometime next month. Hope you enjoy ur christmas!

As early as September? Really?? Wow!! I think the earliest time that I have put up a Christmas tree was in early week of November, but this year I am planning to do it a month before Christmas and the decorations inside the house maybe early December as I want them to always look organize as we have cats who love to play with those decorations.

Its to early to decorate here in the States. My family usually do it the day after Thanksgiving or we do it about a week before Thanksgiving but we don't turn the lights on till Friday the day after Thanksgiving.

The appropriate time for decorating for Christmas is right after the feast of Christ the King. That falls on the last Sunday of November, I think. The long Christmas season that the Filipinos have evolved into tradition is gradually making Christmas an occasion not as exciting anymore. The materials aspects which the malls and the media promote had lessen the thrill of looking forward to a blessed Christmas.

No, we haven't. It is still early. We usually start to decorate Christmas tree in late November or early December. This is the family affair. We set up the Christmas tree and decorate together. It is real fun doing things together that we like, my wife, my son and I. It is such JOY.

Hi Feodda, WE used to put up the Christmas tree at home beofer i celebrate my birthday. So 1st week of September, our Christmas tree is already up and lighted. We believe that putting the tree early will provide more luck and extra blessings and keep it after the three kings celebration. My kids loved decorating our Christmas tree.

lighted tree - artificial tree lighted up to serve as
Christmas tree
No, we have not started putting up decorations at home yet. But, do you know that we have started to do it in the office? Actually, I made an artificial tree last year and donated it to the office. We connected blinking series lights into the tree and it really served as our Christmas tree. We didn't take off the lights and just the other week, we plugged the lights and voila, we have the Christmas tree ... all lighted up.
