Here is the story: http://www.examiner.com/x-22564-Des-Moines-Conservative-Examiner~y2009m10d24-CBS-exposes-Obama-administration-lies-about-blocking-Fox-News Briefly, spokespersons are stating that the administration did NOT attempt to shut Fox News out of an interview with Kenneth Feinburg. However, 4 other news networks know that to be a lie and they are making a fuss about it. This is good news! The media is finally starting to see that our freedom of speech is being infringed. I'm so glad they're sticking together. Why does the Obama administration object to Fox? Because they don't like the opinion shows that air after 5PM. I don't think they watch it or even acknowledge the news content before 5PM. What do you think? Are you alarmed about this president trying to squelch the freedom of the media in expressing their opinions? Or do you think they are justified in trying to ostracize Fox news network because the Fox opinion programs are criticizing the president?

In my experience, people like 0bama, who are intolerant of even considering, discussing, or listening to contrary opinion, are deceitful, full of themselves, pumped up ego driven, blowhards. In 2010, everyone, vote out the 0bama enablers in Congress, please.

I do that in every election, I vote out the incumbents. But all the other idiots vote them back in! I will continue voting them out. Maybe next year will be different, I know a lot of people have awakened to the danger that an entire country is being run by a few hundred elected officials who care about nothing but power and money.

Certainly, it is interesting and perhaps, telling, that 0bama claims FOX is not really a news source rather than respond factually to what FOX reports. This speaks volumes.

I think FOX threw a monkey wrench into the administration's copying of past dictators who found that if they controlled the media they could control the peoples' thinking. I would welcome being wrong about that but I don't think I am.

Presdient Obama must face Fox news he cant let station think they have the power to scare him. I believe it is his right to have questions prescreened with no limit follow ups. Most of Fox reporting about the president has been innuedo, suposition and outright lies. They alluded that William Ayers was close associate of President Obama alihough there's noevidence to that fact. Obama was six when Ayers committed crimes as a weatherman. They back the birthers who insist that Presdient Obama is not a US citizen even though the state of Hawaii verifis he was born there. Thewre is no balance ofthoughtseemslike from Fox. They take positions in many of the commentators such Gkenn Beck, Bill O'Reighly and Chris Hannity that Obama is the worst thing to happen to this country and all their commentary is slanted that way. Obama is right to be concerned because Fox is very powerful but he must face but on his terms.

Not for nothing, but how are you so sure of Fox's bias if you're not even correct on the hosts' names? Seeing it yourself and seeing/hearing it from another source is really the difference between knowing what you're talking about and tuggin' on the grapevine. At least repeat the talking points verbatim. lmao On a simpler note, media is SUPPOSED to be skeptical of power. They're supposed to keep Americans informed and not simply root someone on. It's ironic (or just too sad for words) that people view unwaveringly pro-Obama administration news as the real news, and then look at news that runs a skeptical story should there be one or asks the tough questions as the fixed news. There's really a simpler explanation as to why Fox News has Chris (Sean) Hannity and Glenn Beck on the air: if they had Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow, they would be getting MSNBC's ratings. As far as O'Reilly goes, well, never mind. I don't need to stick up for Bill O. Anyone thinking he's slanted against the administration needs to "wise up," as he would say. He's #1 in the business for a reason, and the smears aren't worth mentioning. Obama should be concerned, yes, I agree with you. Fox is one of the networks that will not let him or anyone else catch a free pass. I wish all networks were like that! Republican, conservative, liberal, Democrat, independent, whatever -- I want every politician scrutinized on a regular basis. That's what NEWS is.

I do not agree with you. Prescreened questions are not fair to the American people, we have a right to ask what we wish of the president--he is OUR employee, WE are the BOSS!!! Or at least, that's how it's supposed to work. It hasn't worked that way the past few decades. While I admit that a few of the accusations against President Obama are reaching, I wonder why he's spent millions of his own money on lawyers to hide his birth certificate and just after he was sworn in he signed an executive order to seal all his records? Does that sound like the actions of an honest man? I think you need to get your head out of the sand and look at some facts. Obama is probably not the evil megalomaniac that some paint him as, but is also is not the perfect ideal that you seem to think he is. He is destroying our economy, our jobs, our pride and our society. He chose this job, he didn't inherit it, he chose it. He worked for 2 long years to get this job. He is the last of a chain of presidents that worked to destroy this country and he is here to finish the job.

Sourceseeker, live up to your name. Quit looking at only one source. I suppose you would like it if teachers let the students pick the questions on exams too. The only reason for wanting to prescreen questions, is to have prepared answers. He can't be caught in TO many lies, you know.

When I first heard the allegations that Obama snubbed Fox I thought it was a little immature maybe elitist but I just didn't know what the deal was and didn't ask. I am curious to see how the administration deals with this and will feel suspicious if they don't address it but I don't want to sound like Im Fox's full support because Im not and few personalities on their just get out of control and obnoxious but Keith Olbermann is not on Fox, how do you explain that. I have my own thoughts on these news networks, they should report the news and keep their thoughts to themselves and stay true to journalism or go work for 'The Dish' on E.

There really is no real journalism anymore. I grew up with Walter Cronkite, who was a liberal--but you would never know it to hear him report the news! He kept his own views out of it and just reported the news. Nowadays, everyone wants to make a statement and color the news with their own views. Fox at least is addressing some issues that are disturbing in their opinion shows, and I'm glad they are. But while I watch Fox, I also watch and read liberal news stories and outlets and I listen to what people think. That's the only way to form an opinion, with all the facts from every side. The president should realize that and use it.

It's ridiculous. It's a fight he can't win. It's only energizing his base and the culture of Fox hatred. They're hoping, I think, that the intense Fox hatred displayed by the farthest left of the far-left kooks will spread like feedin a mogwai after midnight and leave the entire Obama support circle sharing an unexplainable, visceral hatred for Fox news and everyone else in opposition. The cult of personality's leaders are simply trying to redirect their support and transform it into angst. The sheep are being played. As far as I know, Bush wasn't on the rampage against MSNBC. When it comes to type of coverage they run on Obama, that's to be expected! We're bass ackwards here. Since the vast majority of all media left Obama alone, Fox stands out by not giving him a free pass. If all other networks held him and every other politician accountable, you wouldn't even really notice Fox. I would love to know, from anyone, why Obama's past isn't newsworthy? Why isn't ACORN a national story? Why aren't the czars with questionable backgrounds worthy of note? Why is everything done by Obama and his administration supposed to be left alone. Fox is bashed for ANYTHING they say negative about ANYONE in the admin, no matter what it is. I think we all get the gist of the "why." I've said it a million times and I'll say it a million more: Just because someone abstains from showing the news, that does not make the person showing it wrong, ESPECIALLLY when one of the "reasons" for not showing it is to point your finger at the other side and scream bias. It's like someone being a vegan does not make me evil for eating meat! And I don't care how holier-than-thou they're feeling that day with their rice cake and synthetic leather shoes.

Our society is built on showing both sides of every argument, and Obama wants to stifle one side. I don't think Fox hates Obama, I think they are just showing some truths that he prefers remain hidden. Like Beck says, watch BOTH hands--Obama is showing us one hand while the other is busy taking away our rights.

I can't believe they were stupid enough to think they could go after a major news network without people, including the other networks, seeing it for what it really was, an assault on free speech. Now, the networks that they thought were in their pockets, are starting to speak out against them and expose them for what they are. How they thought they could gain anything by taking on Fox news is beyond me. Now they just look like petty thugs and liars and you sure can't say it's biased reporting when they're ALL saying it. The Obama administrations attempt to control the press and inhibit free speech just blew up in their faces. I'm lovin' it!

I think they were taking their cues from previous world dictators who, once they controlled the media, were better able to take over the country and control the people. We're not beaten yet! Vote out all incumbents in 2010. That will help a lot!

Millertime - All throughout W's terms and for many presidents beforehand, the administration has always controlled and limited the media. It did not start with Obama. What we really need to do is vote out all the conservatives who keep halting all progress our country is making, and then people like O'Reilly and Beck will up and disappear. It's okay to dislike the president's policies, but, lying to a whole country, using your television show as a pedestal is not okay. The Fox network is home to many liars, and Fox loves the ratings and the money their controversy attracts, but I would rather an administration shut liars up, than allow them to get away with lying to the public. And oddly, it is usually the administration who is lying, and the media who is trying to expose the truth. Not this time.

Dragon, it sounds like you've been reading my blog, lol... I agree though, we need to vote 'em out in 2010 and start over. Then we need term limits for all of congress.

Well...Obama says that fox is not actually a news station but more of a talk radio thing...no i dont have any idea what that means exactly....AND he is upset that fox did not air his last speech when all the other stations did...(yes I am aware that they actually did air it just not live at the same time as all of the other stations).....personally I DID notice that it wasnt on FOX and I did mention to my husband that that was the first time i remember anything like that happening and that i thought it was a bit rude of the fox network to do that....but it is their perogative to air what they choose so we watched it on another network (problem solved!) However that said I do absolutely have issues with prs. Obama trying to censor Fox from the american public!!!!! We have our own brains and we can decide for ourselves what we believe from what we watch....a lot of people LIKE fox news and choose to watch it...that is their perrogative and Obama has no place deciding that they are not a real news station just because they dont agree with him.... Besides the fact that it totally insults our intelligence that he thinks we cant discern for ourselves what is news and what isnt ...it would be very dangerous for the american people to sit still for this....next week he could decide cbs is no good too...then nbc....next thing you know we get only one station and obviously that would be only the news Obama decided was worthy of our ears.....that is what places like afghanistan do...they have only ONE source of news and it spews lies to them all day long and they have no choice....WE do not want that in america. I dont watch fox news...I dont like it and i do think they are skewed way to the left....BUT...I made that choice for myself and I dont want that choice to be made for me or any other american citizen by the govt!!! Regardless of weather you are for or opposed to Obama....this is a deeper issue.... For a lot of years now...not just this administration but a LOT of years our rights are being dismantled little by little....one by one... We as the American peole NEED to start standing up for our rights or we arent going to have ANY left!!!!

I totally agree with you that we should be able to watch and listen to what we want. Obama is trying to control the media and that is the first step to dictatorship. He already controls 58% of private enterprise through government takeovers. We MUST be watchful and stand up for ourselves!
