My mother

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer almost two years ago.She opted for chemo and did not want the breast removed. They removed the lymph nodes (not sure if I spelled that right) and put her on some serious chemotherapy. She went through hell, was so sick she couldn't stop vomiting, she lost 60 pounds, and all her hair. After all this hell they put her on a preventative medication designed to stop the cancer from coming back. She was faithful and went for all the treatments, tests and took all the pills. She then developed a cough.A real bad cough that didn't stop. They tried the standard sinus meds, etc. Nothing worked, she went off the preventative chemo on her own because she read something online that said it can cause a cough. The doctors then told her she had fluid around her heart and it was only working at 25% horrible odds. She was put on a very high dose of a fluid pill.Yes it helped the fluid I guess,we have no proof of this.however she dehydrated and thankfully my sister is a nurse or we may have lost her. At this point her heart is still only functioning at 25% and we could lose her at anytime.I do what I can to care for her, cleaning her house etc. She only allows so much she is very independent.Thankfully I have a nurse for a sister or I don't think I would have my mother today. Her heart may not be funtioning right. However we have fun when I go to see her I can't imagine what I am going to do without her.I know it is the circle of life but it doesn't make it any easier.

Your mom needs to get on a good nutritive diet. Cucumic would be one which is a derivative of Temeric and a very powerful anti-oxidant. Importantic anti-cancer properties. Then there is COQ10 which is another one. Noni juice has been found to have the highest in anti-oxidants properties. I could go on and on. I listen to a show on channel 394 called Your Health that is hosted by Dr. Richard Becker and his wife. They are very knowledgeable and have a site that is Bioinnovations.net. Also, there is a book you can get from that site called Beating Cancer With Nutrition by Dr. Patrick Quillin. He was on the show once and had some very great ideas about the type of diet you should be on both before and after chemo. Check out the site. Hope it helps.

You have my sympathy. I lost my dad to cancer. I am a cancer survivor myself. I had an operation and radiation therapy and my checkups are all clean so far. Luckily I have avoided chemotherapy as it really takes a toll on your body. Sometimes I think the chemotherapy is as bad as the disease, but sometimes it is the only option available. I am wondering about her decision not to have a mastectomy, sometimes you have to do the things you do not like in order to survive. Unfortunately with her bad heart from your description things do not look that well. You are doing the right thing by looking after her.
