what makes friends drift apart?

i have a best friend for 10 years now. i still consider her as my best friend til now but i feel that we are drifting apart.

it could be that you have changed and she has also changed. You may not be sharing the same interests anymore as your interests also change. Lack of communication can be a factor too.

Hi Feevjune, Drifting apart can be caused by many things. You could be together but if you don't have open communication, it can lead to misunderstanding and eventually it can cause your relationship to be strained, and then you'll find yourselves drifting apart. Distance can be one reason too, as you lose physical contact you tend to forget about each other and then before you realize it you don't even think of each other anymore. If you have changed through time along with some of your preferences, you may find that your friend doesn't fit anywhere in your life anymore, or vice-versa. Whatever the reason maybe, it's sad to lose a long-time friend so before it's too late make an effort save the friendship. Welcome to myLot!

alot of things can do that...changes in our lives mainly...ending up goign in different directions or changes in how we view the world..Have you talked to your friend about it? If not I would seriously consider it..let her know how you feel and see if she is feeling it too and what can you guys do to change it/correct it ya know..

Lack of communication is a major factor that could cause friendships to fall apart. Cause no matter if your far away from each other as long as you have communication then that could really save your relationship as friends.
