Symphany of Destruction?

You take a mortal man And put him in control Watch him become a god Watch people's heads a'roll A'roll CHORUS Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes Swaying to the symphony Of destruction Acting like a robot Its metal brain corrodes You try to take its pulse Before the head explodes Explodes CHORUS The earth starts to rumble World powers fall A'warring for the heavens A peaceful man stands tall Tall CHORUS My son was listening to this and I suddenly thought...this is exactly what's happening. Dave Mustian is a genius! What do you think?

"Fools like me,who cross the sea And come to foreign lands Ask the sheep, for their beliefs Do you kill on gods command?" "Upon my podium,as the Know it all scholar Down in my seat of judgement Gavels bang, uphold the law Up on my soapbox,a leader Out to change the world Down in my pulpit as the holler Than-thou-could-be-messenger of god" LOVE Megadeth! Oh, I am here to simply comment on megadeth, not the political angle by the way. "Peace sells, but who's buyin?"

Hi Debra, I can empathise with this one really. Just look at what happened when they put Sortiris Karamaliakias in charge of the local police, one mortal man and the rules were suddenly imposed affecting peace abiding citizens who suddenly are expected to wear their motorbike helmets on their arms instead of leaving them at home, started a virtual law between rival supermarkets by letting one break the law about Sunday opening but not the other one, and even dared to suggest that the no smoking rule should be extended to taverna kitchens. But the people stood up to him and no ones seem him for the last ten days which shows that action can indeed be taken against these mortal misfits.

Well stop meekly accepting all these ridiculous laws which keep coming in, if they do. You don't see the Greeks accepting things lying down, if necessary they bribe themselves out of things.

If I let loose with some of my hypothesis about what is really going on, they'd ban me from the lot. Since the election, many have thrown off their meekness...and are speaking up. Why do you think we get called 'dangerous conservative whack jobs'?

Thanks Thea..that's what I've always believed. Now, how to get everyone to see that they need to stand up?

So true. Thank you. I bet there are quite a few metal songs that could apply here. This is like a bad movie starring Tom Cruise.

I LOVE Megadeth! Yes, this is what is happening and people are blissfully unaware of what is happening. We'd better wake up soon or we will lose everything. If this president isn't impeached within the next year we are ruined. He will destroy everything.

I know, there is a conference this week to sign some stuff in Copenhagen that would effectively make a world government. I was thinking about this and it would be a disaster, especially with a weak leader like we have--we'd be governed by the rest of the world. I don't know how to stop it unless our senate and congress sudden grow a pair of cojones.

What about the rest of the world, dragon54u? Cause this just isn't America...they want the whole world.

More than that, its the history of mankind and it will one day lead to the destruction of all men. Its in the Bible and if you read that book you'll realise that this is what sin does to us. It makes us believe we are Gods and then we just proceed, via our greed and lust, to destroy the world we live in. Its been so for centuries and now its all happening again.

I have read it bluepatch. Cover to cover, several times. I've even tried to study it in the original languages...I know, believe me, I know.

Not the first time it's happened, but hopefully not the worst. But is the man really in control?

No, Dawn...we're not. The gods are....and when it all comes to a head, The Creator God will cut them down. Sorry, waxing poetic here. Sort of. I'm in a weird mood. Tired of trying to get stupid people to wake up...

Dave Mustaine. Megadeth, "Symphony of Destruction"--a song a couple of decades old now, one of my youthful favorites--and yes, it halfway convinced me Mr. Mustaine is some kind of prophet, half-truths and half-jokes aside I'm pleasantly surprised to see you post this. Anyway, although he won't outright speak up about a "New World Order" he has in interviews discussed the atrocities he's seen done by the United Nations while touring the world... A great man and a great song. dr...

Megadeath ROCKS. I don't know Dave's views on anything. Frankly, most rock musicians seem to be liberal, so if I actually thought about it hard enough, I probably wouldn't like their music. For all I know, Dave was taking a stand against Reagan or Bush I with these lyrics! The song is early 90s, so I'm not sure who he was on about. Maybe just about things in general -- history. It's hard to tell with talented musicians. They are really brilliant on some levels, but kooky and self destructive on the rest. The lyrics are definitely pertinent today.

i compeltley agree that is what's happening. the world is beign torn apart. everything is coming down, teh structure of society is falling. I beleive there is no hope left to be had. We set our course and teh path can not be changed now. I don't know how it will happen, or what event it was that finalized our journey, but we're stuck now.

The more who stand up tall, the less who will hold their weapons for them.
