Do you know? How many steps do you take per day, and how much SHOULD you take per day? On an average day, I seem to be taking about 6,500 which doesn't seem to be up to par. What do you walk per day? And P.S. - I only know because I just bought a pedometer and I'm LOVING it! lol! So how much do you walk per day, steps-wise? And how much do you think is a *good* amount of walking? And do you have a pedometer?

Well since I have been very lax about getting out and running for some time now, I am not taking as many as I should. Last time I was good about running, I was doing close to 8.5 miles four days a week. All the "experts" say to take 10,000 steps a day but that is hard to do unless you get out walk or run.

I usually hear that if one wants to lose weight one should take 10,000 steps a day. Quite a lot by just hearing it. But then again I tried counting my steps from our house until the nearest bus stop and guess what it was atleast 1,000 steps. So I think 10,000 steps is doable. Better get that pedometer too. Happy walking.

hi maezee I know because I bought a pedometer and I joined the 10000 step club for good health. And while I was working paging books and media in the tustin library I often came so close as 99900 steps, so made the rest at home. I was on my feet for four hours daily working and the steps counted up. I was a little thinner then too. now I have a bad leg so I do not get in very many steps. it is an excellent program however and for those who have no bad handicaps it seems a great way to stay fit.
