I came across this site a couple of times for job postings and decided to sign up. I tested for the few tests they have available to post on your profile. I'm curious if anyone on here uses it that does free lance wirting and other free lance jobs that are available.

I have been working on oDesk for almost a year and I love it. Once I got a couple of jobs, it was fairly easy after that. It can be a bit tricky to get the first job, though. Make sure you take as many of the tests as you can, and make sure you have writing samples to submit when you apply for a job. Don't use a standard cover letter, write a new one for each job. Providers seem to hate the copy and paste cover letters. Also, make sure you are applying for as many as possible up to your limit. I have a blog where I have a couple of posts about oDesk, particularly tips and tricks for getting hired. The link is in my profile, you may have to look in the archives, I can't remember when I wrote the oDesk stuff for sure. Feel free to PM me if I can help you in any way.

Thanks, i appreciate the response. i've noticed that there are several listed as candidates for some jobs, so hopefully it won't be long before I'll get something. I've been working on the test more and just applying to one every now and then. i've got like 5 tests done I think so I think i'm well on my way from what you have stated. i hope you do good in the future with this. thanks for the help

Hello I signed up at Odesk last month. So far, I've applied to three article-writing job applications and received an email for a job interview. I didn't get the job for the 3 job applications. 2 were cancelled and 1 was already filled up. Unfortunately, I had to decline the job interview. I didn't want to disappoint the buyer by falling short in his expectations. He needed writers for the "How to" articles. And so far, my experience in article writings were mostly health-related. I'm still on the hunt for article writer job openings. But now, I'm also applying for data entry jobs.

i noticed that some of them were having a lot of people apply for the position and I would pass it up unless I thought i could really get it. I appreciate your input and keep me posted if you started to get success from it as far as how there payment systems work and the hourly pay. i have applied for like 4 jobs and haven't heard from them yet. I'm trying to stick to the writing but i would ike at customer srevice and see what is there too. Check the other columns out because sometimes there might be one that should have been posted in writing but it would be put in customer service. besides it doesn't hurt to look to see if there would be something you could do.

My hubby did and never got work. Good luck. Sorry for the generic comment but I'm WAAAAAY behind on my friends posts but want everyone to get their pennies, so here I am. Hi and Happy Holidays if we don't cross each others paths before then.
