It does not have to be very hightech or popular...just the one thing which made impact on you, you admire most, or helped you a lot. Which one is it and why? :D Mine would be the elevator because it enabled the existence of high rise buildings, skyscrapers and other huge buildings. Before its invention, technology can already build such high structures but the problem was it would be very impractical. There is the stairs already but still it was not enough to lead the construction of high buildings. It would be possible but very very imprctical. With the invention of the elevator (and escalators), it became easier to ascend to structures and lead to the making of the highest structures. I just hope that in the future, there'd be something that would address the need for an elevator which can work fast and without electricity. SOmething much safer.. What about you?

It would have to be computers. Since its invention, the advancement of civilization became faster. It has made my life a lot easier. I love that I can work online for someone on the other side of the globe, without ever meeting that person and yet earn some money. I also like the instantaneous way to connect and reconnect with friends.

I'd have to say I'm most grateful for the washing machine! I remember my grandma scrubbing clothes on a washboard and it was such hard work--I know, I took a few turns when her arms were so tired. Later, she got a washing machine with a built-in manual wringer and she was so happy! I would need at least one like that--she filled it with a hose, I remember. How far we have come!

I know how important washing machines are too but I really have a grudge on them. We always ruin our washing machine, I dont know why. Lol. maybe the manufacturers are the ones to blame but the original inventor is really a genius hehehe..thanks!!!

Hi calai, now here I fail. Why does it have to be only one thing. . There are so many many many things. :( U can start with electricity, and the wheels, to music systems, television, geysers, mixers, blenders, microwave ovens, washing machines, vaccuum cleaners, floor polishers, gas stoves, computers, mosquito repellants... etcetera etcetera. I sound like Anna and the King of Siam. lol. As I mentioned. I accept - I fail with this. :) Please give me an easy test the next time. :)

Lol I know how you're feeling. It is really hard to pick just one because obviously, these inventions are made to make our lives eeasier or meant to have a huge impact in our lives in some ways. I mean they wouldn't be invented for nothing..Each really has its own function and importance that it's relly hard to choose... :(

The dishwasher and laundry machines. Without these 2 machines, my life as a homemaker would be much more difficult. I do at least 15 loads of laundry and 7 loads of dishes each week. Imagine if I had to do them by hand? I would not last long.

I would have to agree with you. Knowing that I have to do all those stuff is one of the things that scare me from having my own family..I am really glad there are those inventions. Homemmakers have the most difficult job in the world I think. Happy mylotting!

I love the invetion of the elevator. it really helps disabled people get to places they either had a really hard time or could never go before. It would be neat if there was a safer way to travel on elevators. I have no idea how to do it.

yeah you're right. the elevator did made people equal because there isn't anymore discrimination since differently-abled people can have access to those places which they couldn't access before. I answered the elevator because I am in the design and architecture industry and it certainly has a huge impact in the field. Happy mylotting!!!

Hi calai618, That's not an easy question to answer as several things come to mind, and it's difficult to choose. I will however, go with the computer because the Internet has put us in touch with the whole world. Today we can get almost any information we require and within seconds. We can also communicate with people from all parts of the globe. Blessings.

my favorite would be the cellphone. It just fascinates me how we can talk to somebody very far with a very small device.. Texting is also one thing that makes a lot of communications better. Although their are advantages and disadvantages, i think cellphones are one of the most important inventions of all time.

The washing machine has to be my favorite invention. I can't imagine how pioneer women did their laundry. Washing your clothes in the stream or a soapy bucket would be so much work. The modern convenience of the washing machine is a laundry godsend.

yes light was also revolutionary!!! thanks! I just can't help thinking sometimes that it is not an "original idea/invention" because the inventor just copied the sun and the moon LOL..though lightning can be connected to electricity, light was just to0 obvious hehehe..I hope you know what I mean lol..hhappy mylotting!

The internet. The reason for this is that because of the internet I am able to keep in touch with friends and family that live far away from me. I've even been able to make friends with people that I may never have the opportunity to meet in real life. Plus, the invention of the internet gives us the opportunity to be able to make money in the comfort of our own home. Were it not for having the internet in our home, I don't know what I would do with myself when my daughter and husband are at school and work.
