...you feel about small planes? They seem to go down so frequently. Look at how many celebrities have died in small plane crashes. I even had a friend who died in one. His son who was piloting the plane suffered very severe burns but lived. Should there be more regulations on people who fly them? Is there anything else that you think would help decrease the number of small plane fatalities?

i think that its easier to get a liscence to fly a small plane than a commercial one. also im thinking with the large commercial planes there is probably more regular routine maintenance done and many people keeping an eye on potential problems and checking them out, whereas with ones its really up to the owner to do this and if he isnt vigilant about it then these types of crashes will be more likely to occur. as well control panels in large plains can be closely monitered to see what is going on with any are of the plane, like electrical, fuel lines, etc and smaller planes do not have this advantage. the loss of any life is always so sad, sadder still when it may have been easily prevented, thanks for starting good discussion +

That is so sad. Privatly owned small planes are becoming more common everywhere and I think there is serious need to make new regulations about them. Did you know that in most countries there is now law about how old you have to be to get a pilots licence? You have to wait for a drivers licence but you could get a pilots licence when you are 11!
