Do you do all the washing up before you go to bed as well as try to keep up with it during the day? If you have a dish washer do you leave the filling up of the dishwasher the next day or are you like me and get the deed done as soon as everyone has finished their food or drink?

Well is a must do soon if you want to use them again, but also is good to wait to fill up the machine enough to make it worthy the water use.

I guess I am compulsive about this. I don not leave dishes in the sink overnight. We my husband and I were together I would wash them right after dinner. I rarely used many dishes during the day and there really was no point to using the dishwasher for a few things. Since I have been staying most of the time with one daughter I have gotten really annoyed cause she lets stuff pile up in the sink or lets pots pans, food sit on the stove overnight. She never rinsed the dishes or scrapes out stuck on food before she finally puts them in the dishwasher. With 3 kids. husband and me there are a lot of dishes. I try to clean as much as I can, but I feel like I just spin my wheels cause she doen't care about the dishes or the cleanliness of her kitchen. I'ce been visiting my other daughter who has two kids and she does a much better job and I love to help her out by washing the dishes. I don't like leaving dishes in the dishwasher for days either. I would rather do it and get it overwith asap.

I get the deed done as soon as possible! I don't like having messes around the house so when I cook I do the dishes as I go so I'm not stuck with a sink full after we eat.

We put the dishes in the dishwasher throughout the day, start it at night or the next morning, and then unfill it. My MIL, My husband and myself are the ones that usually do that, with my husband and I usually being the ones to empty the dishwasher.

I don't have a dishwasher. My house was built in 1923 and has just a sink--in order to get a dishwasher I would have to tear out some much-needed cabinets. It's just me here so I wash dishes about every other day. I don't use more than 2 place settings a day and maybe one pan or skillet so it's very manageable. When I do them, it's at night because I don't like waking up to a stack of dishes. I cover them with a nice towel after rinsing them off if I'm not going to do them right away.

Since I hate waking up and starting the day with "messes," late in the evening I make sure certain things are done, including the dishes! I no longer have an automatic dishwasher, but I don't mind doing them by hand. It just makes for a nicer start to the next day :)) Karen

I will clean the dishes up as soon as everyone is done eating. I will just rinse the dishes off in the sink and then put them in the dish washer. I will usually wash my pots and pans and dry them and then put them up right away. I fine that if done right away they are earsier to clean and it does not take as long to clean them.

I try my best to keep up with my dishwashing throughout the day. It seems like it never ends. I get all of the dishes washed after breakfast and it doesn't take long before the sink is filled with dirty dishes again. I don't have a dishwasher so everything is washed by hand. I try to never go to bed with any dirty dishes in my sink. The last thing I want to see when I go into the kitchen in the morning is dirty dishes waiting for me!

We use a dishwasher. We fill it every evening after supper. Sometimes there is enough that I have to fill it again in the morning also.

When I am cooking I have alot of methods to get most of the dishes clean and not have to put them in the dish washer. If I use a frying pan I put some soapy water in it and put on the cooling burner. Or if I used a large pan I have it in the sink with hot soapy water in it and wash the rest of the dishes as they come along. Works fast and does the trick! Then whatever is left after dinner goes right in the dish washer.

We do not have a dish washer. So we have to wash all of our dishes by hand. For breakfast I typically just put the dishes in the sink because I don't really have the time to wash them then. But at dinner time I typically do dishes right after we eat. I don't like to let them sit because then the food just gets stuck on them and they're harder to wash. I also just like the idea of getting it done and over with!

I just sold my dishwasher two weeks ago because we got a new kitchen sink and the fixings wouldn't fit the hose of the dishwasher so I decided instead of letting the dishwasher sit we would go ahead and sell it so right now we have been washing dished by hand which hasn't been too bad especially since my kids are now old enough to help me out. I will usually try to keep up on the dishes and due them with each meal that way there isn't too many at one time ti do but at time that can't always happen because of the activities in the day but if I can't get them done then I will do them in the morning after my kids and husband head off for the day. The one thing I miss about the dishwasher is the convenience but one things I like about doing them by hand is how much cleaner everything gets.

washing dishes - dishes, etc. for washing
We wash dishes manually. We do it after every meal and every night the children take turns in washing them. We don't want to leave anything unwashed overnight. If I am the one cooking, I wash the wares I use while I wait for the soup to boil or meat to be cooked. That way, when I am done with cooking, the sink is free of dirty plates, etc.

I usually wash all the dishes before I go to bed. I do not have a dishwasher I wash it all by myself including the pan and pots that O was using for cooking. I don't like to see piled up use dishes when I wake up in the morning. I think that it is best to clean it up before going to bed so that roaches and rats will not stay in your house. I always wanted my kitchen to be clean.
