Do you suffer any kind of phobias?.Like me, I'm very afraid of balloons. If i saw someone blew balloons I will run away. This related with my experience when I was a little boy.The balloons that I blew burst and hit my face.Since that incident i will keep away from balloons.Phobia is some kind of phsycological problem.I try hard but until now I can't eliminate my phobia.

I have a phobia about snakes. I've heard that this is a very common phobia. I don't know where the phobia came from. I've never been bitten by one or come upon a rattlesnake. My phobia has improved with age. However, I don't want to go to a professional about it. I've found that the most common method to get someone to overcome a phobia is to gradually expose them to what they fear. No thanks! I'll just cover my eyes or leave the room if there is one or more snakes in a movie or tv show. I also stay away from places that have rattlesnakes, my biggest fear. I've even thought about moving to Alaska. They don't have snakes.

I've got two major phobias. They're both pretty managable but they still bother me. I'm afraid of spiders which can be difficult living in a location where spiders are usually pretty common in homes and outside. However, I don't scream and run away or anything, I'd just prefer not to be around them because they really bother me. Secondly, I hate sparklers (you know the fireworks?) I can't touch them unlit or lit. They bother me that much. I even refuse to touch an unopened box of them. This fear came about after I got burned by a sparkler when I was a kid. I was pretty young and the fear has stuck with me so I just deal with it. We don't do much for any holidays with fireworks anymore so it's usually not a problem.

It takes a lot of time and work to get over phobias and some people never really do. I don't have a phobia that I know of but I am very nervous about speaking in front of a crowd. I hate doing it! I actually avoid it at all costs..lol.

I am like you. I don't like balloons. Never have because of the sound it would make when they burst. I don't even like swimming with others. I had a bad experience when I was a little girl where I could have drowned if it wasn't for my father. Now, I don't like going into pools, rivers or the beach. We have a little pool. I got in once with my kids. My kids splashed me and I got out. I never went in again. The kids and husband keep on asking me to go in, but I refuse to. Here is a strange bit, I wouldn't mind an outdoor spa.
