If there's one thing in your body which you can live without...what would that be and why? For me, I think one of the things I can't live without is my hair. Not that it's the least important but it was the first thing that came out of my mind. I really hate it when somebody accidentally catches my hair. I hate the fact that I always have to comb them hehehe. I also heard that bad people often choose to victimize people (especially girls) with long hair because they can always grab their hair if they try to fight. Long hair also poses as a dangerous thing to have because there was one case in our school where a girl was riding on a car and her hair got caught on something from outside the car so her scalp got ripped off..That was really scary..From then on, I started tidying up my hair. I always have it carefully pulled back but making sure it's not dangling around so it will never get caught on anything.. :( You? Which body part do you think you can live without? What part are you willing to give up? Why?

Hi,friend,i think those are my nails.I used to cut them on every Sunday.Even within the week days,i fear about some thing will be deposit in nails and through that,i may attack bacteria and fungus inspite of care i take. This habit i learned to my children also.Eventhough we can live without hair, but those who got beauty conscious, they can't live without stylish hair, they may live without food...lol.. Have a nice time.

Good thing I am not that beauty conscious lol. Or I can just wear a wig which can easily fall off or just wear a hat to cover by head hehehe. Yup the nails are really hard to deal with. I hate it when dirt accumulates on them and we end up having stomach aches because of the bacteria.. :(

I could live without my legs. I'm in a wheelchair and don't use them much, accept to stand with help to go to bed or toilet. Some days, I actually think that it would useful if I didn't have them. I'd be much lighter without my thunderous thighs.

There are two things that I think it would be very difficult for me to live without. The first one that comes to mind is my sight. I couldn't imagine having to go through the rest of my life not being able to see the light of the day or the beauty of nature around me. The other thing that I don't think I could live without is my hearing. I love music far to much to never be able to hear a note played again in my life. To have to be stuck in a world of silence would be devastating for me.

i could definately live without my hair. i have a tad bit longer than shoulder length auburn hair and if somebody cut it off right now, i would probably be shocked but it would bother me that much. ive shaved it off before for charity and raised a bit of money. that was fun. what i couldnt live without though is my thumbs. i mean, they are my opposable digit and then what would i space bar with? also i am a goalkeeper in football (soccer) and therefore my thumbs are one of my most prized possesions, although i am forever hurting them.

I am just the opposite, my hair is one thing I can live without! I'm 55 now and no longer vain about my appearance. I used to have lovely hair but now it's just an inconvenience. If I had to give up one thing, that would be it.

calai618 well I can and did live without my appendix, had it removed at age 20, and can live very nicely without my gallbladder had gallbladder surgery about twenty years ago. But my long silver hair, no that I will keep as it is one of my few assets ,it and my blue green eyes are my best features.

Oh really? I thought the appendix is the only thing inside us which can be removed without major effect on us..Thanks for sharing that. i actually concentrated on the outer part of the body since the inside is very complicated and I am sure they are all essential LOL. Thanks Hatley!!!!

My tonsils were removed when I was 6 years old, and never missed them! That was 56 years ago! Go Figure! Never knew why they were there in the first place all they did was give me sore throats! LOL! tdemex

Lol I have tonsilitis right now and I hate it so much. But I have a question. DIdn't you feel anything strange after removing it? From what I heard a lot of Americans have teir tinsils removed but I really dont know the reasons. Also, from what I know the tonsils are the ones that refrain bacteria from going straight to our hearts and lungs (or something to that effect) that's why they are there. But since there are a lot of people having them removed, I guess that is not really a big deal...Thanks tdemex for the reply!

..Hi calai618, I think I need all my vital organs, they all work together for a properly functioning body. The one thing that I might be able to do without, or there might be two. They would be my spleen, which I have heard does not really do any thing or they haven't discovered what it does :o), and my appendix. I could also, come to think about it, live without my wrinkles, for sure, although they might not qualify as a body part. Take it easy.

there are lots of nice clever answers here like hair or appendix...but if it were a major body part, I could live w/out 1 ear. It would be easy to hide it behind my hair or cover it up or something. But of course I hope it doesn't happen!
2 Nov 09
i had seen a person without ears, that means without the outer portion of ear.But its very difficult to manage without that, because infection will get easily. And one more thing that doctor suggested to him that avoid the journeys. I think every part is essential for us. if we lose any body part,we can overcome that with a powerful mind.Just go through our surroundings, we can get many examples.

Yes we live without hair. But every part of our body is useful. Hair beautify our face and protect our head from sunshine. I love my hair so much. Recently my hair is falling. I'm very much worried for that. Don't neglect your hair.

I pretty much like to keep every bit of me! (LOL) The only thing that I have missing from my body are my tonsils; I lost them when I was four and I can't say I have ever missed them. I too would hate to lose my hair, it’s quite long and I keep it tied up or up on top of my head most of the time but I like the option to wear it out, plat it or whatever...

I would be willing to give up toe tails..I found my toe is unuseful and ungly and I have to cut them in a very short time, once a week, or I feel uncomfortable when they grown longer..Otherwise, they have frayed many pairs of socks..I fell so boring about them..People would not notice something strange happens on our body because few people do not wear shoes...

I think I will go with Appendix. I would not want it removed. However since it would not affect me much, I can live without an Appendix.

If there's someone in need and I am the only person to give him my body part, I think it's my left or right kidney. Because it will really help him prolong his life. Have a nice day!
