As many of u know i have my 2 grandogs here for awhile. They are big ol' labs & my son had told me, mom if they get out don't u try to get them back in the pen. Yesterday my neighbor was over & i walked outside w/her. We were standing on the carport talking & she says omgosh whose big old dog is that. She is afraid of big dogs. I looked to see & i told her it's t.j.'s [my son]. He want hurt u intentionally but he 's soooo big he could easily knock u down especially someone like me that is not too steady on their feet to start with. I was trying to get him back in the pen, she was hollering he's going to hurt you, i was all muddy where he jumped up on me & was holding on to the pen to keep him from knocking me down. She called t.j. on her cell but it took him about 15 min. to get here. I did finally get him to go into my storage room & shut the door. I looked like i had been making mud pies or whatever. Have u ever had so much fun like that? What we do for our kids.

BELIEVE me it wasn't fun. I can laugh about it now but don't want to go through it again. This big ol' dog handles u instead of u handling him.

I'm sure this incident would have been hilarious to watch. I'm such a photography nut that I would have loved to have been able to take a picture of mud-soaked you right after you got him in the storage room. Priceless!! Part of the reason I'm finding this so funny is because my oldest daughter just got a giant labrador. She's an exceptionally sweet dog and I just adore her. Just three weeks ago I babysat for the dog and, luckily, everything went well. However, I can appreciate how very strong big labs can be and how hard it would be to get one to go anywhere it didn't want to go. Thanks for sharing this story. A laugh with coffee is a good way to start the day!

Oh goodness Jo!! I'm glad that you were able to get the dog in but gosh, you shouldn't have tried to do such a thing because those dogs are so full of energy that they don't know how to rid of it but act so silly all the time. It's like they're on caffeine all day long! lol I'm glad you're safe but please, don't try that again!! I want my dear friend around in one piece a while longer!!

Well, my sister has 2 black labs that can be pretty strong as well. She has since moved to PA with them, but I do remember having to watch to make sure they did not jump on me as they could push even a bigger person around as they are quite heavy dogs. But as long as you could get them to not jump on you, they were quite loving wonderful dogs to be around. But it must have been a site seeing you covered in mud like that for sure, but as long as you can laugh about it, it was truly worth it for sure.

Geee! It's fun really. My girlfriend's sister has a Lab. Not as big as a male but she can knock people off their feet in her scurry. Labs are real fun to be with. I've never seen a lab that wasn't friendly. They are so darn playful that they run all around the place and they love water so much you wouldn't have a problem giving them a bath. Very intelligent dogs too, they can be trained very easily if you start them young. I wish I had my own lab.

I love labs but they are so strong and I do not know if I could have stayed straight if he had jumped on me. It must have looked but I am so glad that you were not hurt. What do we do for our kids? Just about everything I guess. Just about everything.

Thanks for responding, dear. I was very lucky he didn't knock me down. t.j. had told me not to do that if they happen to get out let them go & my friend jennifer was screaming, he's going to hurt u. He is a very sweet dog but huge. I hope that doesn't happen again. I'm still feeling the side affects, now i know how football players feel when they are tackled.lol.

I will not miss their barking at all, believe me. The only good thing about having them here i get to see the kids every day when they come to feed them. Thanks for your response, Sue. Have a good one. jo
