Always Eat Out of Home

Indonesia
November 2, 2009 9:48pm CST
It's been a month now that I started to eating things that are not cooked at home. I have no wife yet, and I can not and do not have time to cook. In the morning I always eat yellow rice sold by many stalls found throughout my path to my office. I eat wherever my heart goes or wherever my friends ask me to in lunch time. At night? Now here's the complication begins. Sometimes I am too tired to go out looking for food so I simply eat two slices of bread slapped together with jam or peanut butter in the middle. It's not good for health if I do that each night. So I mostly go out and find some food stalls. Mostly soto or rawon or nasi goreng. There are times when I call KFC and order some food. But that's costly. Truthfully, I am tired with this condition. Have you ever been in this situation?

Maybe you should try to learn how to cook, then? I don't think anyone is BAD at cooking. You just need to find time to practice, and practice makes perfect. You shouldn't have to wait for a wife to be able to eat home-cooked meals (as who knows how long that will take).

Sounds like excuses. Your health is important. I am a single parent and I work full time and I still make time to cook meals that are healthy for me and my daughter. There was a time not to long ago that I had 4 kids at home and I cooked all our meals. IT was a rare treat for us to go out to eat. It is not good for the wallet or the body. Because I was so busy, I would make meals ahead of time and freeze them. A crock pot is a lifesaver for a busy person. I would throw the ingredients in it in the morning and dinner was ready and delicious at the end of the day.

If we are tired of cooking at home we eat out or have a take-out or delivered food. It's just expensive when you always do that. It's bad for your health when you always eat in fastfoods because you didn't know if its clean or well-cooked. I still prefer a home-cooked meals. Nothing compares to it.

yes and often they are processed foods that are totally unhealthy. If one doesn't eat right then pretty soon they will be having health issues. Eating out and eating fast food, junk food in excess as this poster does is just as bad as a person who drinks to excess or smokes or any other unhealthy habit. If not taken care of it is bound to lead to some serious health problems. The excuse that he does not have a wife is very lame.

hi, I never want to pass this situation and i probably tried to avoid this situation and presently not willing to leave without my mothers cooking. But i understand that someday this situation comes and you have to cook for yourself by that time i am planning to make myself easy with healthy readymade food that can be cooked easily.Now-a-days vegetable cutters are making life easy as they take only some time to cut vegetables. Most of the times as you are in office you can eat food out in the morning and the problem comes in night when yo are exhaust and not willing to make food for yourself.I suggest eat fruits and salads at night as they are easy and doesnt need much time to cook. It is health to eat such type of food and when you are willing to cook for yourself then you can experiement on different dishes.

Actually, I have considered buying LPG and cook ready made foods. But most of then involving frying or MSG. Those are nasty.

I have to say that the peanut butter that you slap on bread is far healthier than KFC which is very unhealthy for your body. I hardly ever go out to eat and try to cook at home. It is healthier and far cheaper. Not having a wife is not a good excuse for poor eating habits, Zenstrive. I have brothers and they both know how to cook. One should always know how to take care of ones self without depending on others. You would be better off eating peanut butter sandwiches for a while and saving the money you'd spend eating out and put it towards a cooking class. It would save you a bundle and be much healthier for you.

I am in that situation. Difference is I am not alone but we are both lazy to cook so we always end up buying food cooked by these food stalls. Sometimes we just eat these instant noodles because I am often too tired to cook after coming from the office. Sometimes when I am really tired I just fell asleep without eating dinner at all. I prefer sleeping than eating when I am very tired.

I love eating out of home. I usually hate the same simple food of home although i know that it can be a problem to your health but eating outside makes me feel happy and comfortable. My brother stays outside and whenever he comes we enjoy food outside and also whenever there is an occasion we always like to go outside.I remember we always ate south Indian food when we used to go for long drives in my childhood. those days really make me feel very cool and happy.Even I always ate outside in stalls in my schooldays, sometimes alone, sometimes with my friends....

No I haven't because I can cook. But there are times when I don't feel like it and so I end up eating out or heating up something frozen. Yep, it gets expensive though.

No, I have not because I like to cook so I cook our meals at home most of the time. Sometimes we will go out to eat but not very often its to expensive. I do get some of those boxes that you just have to add water which does not take very long to cook. Now a days there are lots of those instant package to choose from and they do taste good and do not take long to cook them.

i'm not in your situation but i eat at home about only 4-5 times in a week, i go to the university, i start at 7:30 and i finish at 20:00 so i don't have time to cook something, so i take some sandwiches with tuna or ham. sometimes i buy bread with sousage and i eat it in a free room in the univeristy.I love to cook, so this situation it's not the best for me, i can't cook, and when i arrive at home i don't have enaugh power to move the spoon.

Well, if I've been in this situation? Not really. Perhaps fast food/junkfood is the best sometimes when you are in really hurry, but reapeatedly eating this food, is not healthy at all. I'll suggest fast meals as the shop offer. You know those packages where you just have to add water, or just warm it up, or something like that. It's easy, fast, healthy as well, and not that expensive. Even a child could make those stuff, and it's almost easier than your rice, and it also taste greater, tho.

I’m a student who must remain in residence during term. So i also have to eat at school all day . The worth than you is i have no more many to eat in the resterant or the KFC .Usually I miss my mother's culinary skill. I wish you can find a girl you loved and setting down after married. Then you can enjoy your wife's cook and throw the juck food away~~

Sometimes when my hubby is on tour and my son is with my parents, I am all alone at home and I don’t feel like cooking and stuffing the fridge. Its at times like these that I look outside for food. Its for maximum two or three days but I already get bored of the stuff sold. Firstly its not cheap if you eat at a good place and secondly, the choices are not simple. Outside food is always spicy and the oil they use is not of good quality so two days max and I really cant take it anymore.

Hello. I am not good with cooking at all. The best I can do is boiling water. Ha ha ! So, all I can do at home is coffee at breakfast time before going to work. For lunches and dinners, I have to go to restaurants near my work place and near my house. Luckily, there are very nice restaurants around here. I also keep a stock of dinner packs which can be microwaved and ready.

What you should try to do is spend some time stocking your fridge with healthy snacks and meals. It doesn't have to be expensive either. If you like rice, buy a rice cooker and an ample amount of rice in bulk. Experiment with spices to make a meal more exciting. I too live on my own in college and have to become quite adventurous with my meals sometimes heh.

Yeah, the same as you. When you come to a strange city to live, you can find there are so many bad things in front of you. You should confront all to feel better. That's why so many people work harder day after day. Wish you better. We are all in your body.
