i know its totally normal to be nervous about weather or not your parenting will be up to snuff when your expecting a new baby weather its the first or your several kids in but did you or your partner have major nervous breakdowns over weather you could be a good parent or not? i know i had several and my finance definitely almost had a major depression thinking he'd be worthless which he isn't. tell me your new or renewed parent woes and worries please i wish to know!

well, we werent that young when we had our first daughter but we (mostly me because i was home with her all the time) found it overwhelming when she was little. i find that most new parents have no idea what to do when baby is brought home.

i remember almost going loony because i couldn't get any sleep when mine was still under two months old and i couldn't figure out why he wouldn't sleep longer than 20 minutes most of the time. and yea i'm home with him all the time alone most of it and it was very overwhelming its getting easier at the moment but i know as soon as he figures out how to stand up on his own its gonna get hard all over again :)

I wasn't really worried about being a good parent when I was pregnant nor when my children were babies. I was always a babysitter and loved it. Everyone always told me I was really good with children. Now that I have two children (2 & 5) I am concerned as they aren't as well behaved as I was at that age, not that I was a perfect angel but my parents kept me in line. My oldest son is in Pre-K and his teacher says he has problems listening and doing what he's told. When she says it's time to switch tasks he throws a fit and doesn't want to most of the time. I just hope it all works out in the end and he will be an educated, well rounded, caring person.

Hi, I am not gonna be a parent in the near future. But I do really think whether I would be able to be one good parent. Would I be able to love and protect my child from all harm. Sometimes I think it is really a task which should be taken if you are really comfortable with the idea. the worst thing that can happen to a child is I guess when the parents quarrel in front of them and they get separated. That is a major trauma which any child shouldn't be exposed to.

i didn't think i was ready to be a parent and wasn't sure i was ever gonna be one actually i got pregnant by accident so i didn't have many choices and i decided to stick it out and give it a try and it seems to be going pretty well and its so much fun you just cant imagine till you've actually done it which is something i also thought id never say :) also i agree fully that parents fighting in front of their children is traumatizing i'm a grown up and i still get scared if my parents fight when i'm near by.

I am a mom and have son.He still was two years old.I am a parent who really concerned about parenting.I want to be good parent.Honestly,I worry about influence of living area or my environtment to my son's education.Because Kids at the age love to imitate others. So,I must have strategy and accompany my kids well.I should be his first teacher.

yes i agree that we as parents must be our little ones first teachers and hope we teach them well. i try to read to my 6 month old a lot so he will read when he gets bigger rather than just watch tv. i dont have a problem with video games tho ;)
