Do you do your christmas shopping online or offline?

Unbelievable, but it is nearly Christmas again. I already know I'll run out of time to think of gifts, go to the shop and buy them! I know that shopping online can be quicker and cheaper as well. But I kind of miss the looking through shops, experiencing the athomosphere. It is the start to christmas - christmas shopping, isn't it? Are you going to shop online or offline for your gifts this year?

I have got most of my christmas shopping done, offline. I went and put most on lay a way, there are still a few things I need to get but they are online. I feel this way is safer, especially for "black friday" and when bad weather hits. I am glad I am done with the shopping so I also don't have the "last item" fight over hassle also. Some stores also have "special" specials online that you take advantage of and can save gas for driving to the store.

I am impressed you are already done with your christmas shopping. I'm still thinking of starting!

I don't like the hussle and bussle of "christmas" shopping. Then I had the extra money so decided to get it done right away while I had it. Now, I can "spoil" my son and get what I would like and put on layaway now for my christmas. :)) Then if the weather is bad, I don't want to drive in it. I will still have to get the little stocking stuffers and treats but I can do that the week before.

I do both actually. If I can't find something that the person for whom I am shopping for will like or enjoy locally, I will expand my reach online. It has been rather helpful more than a few times. It's a lot easier to narrow your search also.

Sounds lie a good plan. I tend to look online for ideas, then I buy a few things online others online.

I always buy everything offline, because here in Serbia it is not possible to shop online. But if i lived somewhere else, I would probably buy things online expect clothes cause it would be impossible to try it on. But I think that shopping offline is much safer than buying things around using internet.

I never buy clothes online neither - you need to try them on really. Yes, offline is probably safer, but they made a lot of improvements with online security as well.

I have always done all of my Christmas shopping offline. I guess it's just more fun in the Christmas shopping experience for me to go to the stores and personally choose gifts. With the state of the country's economy, I have decided to do some of my Christmas shopping on line this year. I have already bought a few Christmas gifts on linbe all ready. I am pretty satisfied with the outcome so far.

I think you hit it on the nail there. It feels more personal when you buy offline in the shops. But online allows you to compare better and get better prices.

I think most of my gifts will be in the form of gift card this year. My friends and family already have anything they might want, so a gift card for some nice resturant in their local are will be good. These are easy enough to buy online, so that will be my method of choice for this holiday season.

That's not a bad idea actually. It's so difficult to buy gifts when nothing really is needed.

I love this season of the year. 2010 is fast approaching. I do my shopping both online and off. I love to go to the malls to see the decorations and just to say I was in the shopping crowd. But I do prefer to do online Christmas shopping. I find that I can take as much time as needed in the comfort of my home.

I think they've just switched on the christmas lights on round here. I really should go into town and enjoy it.

I typically do my shopping both ways. I am out to find the best deal - so after searching online and in stores, I buy it wherever the item is cheapest. I've done some in store and online shopping already for Christmas! I could never do ALL of my Christmas shopping online. It would take all the joy out of the holidays, for sure!

Comparison is definitively the best way. But it also takes so much time. For me in the moment time is even tighter than money...

Every year I do my shopping online but for some odd reason I have already started my shopping but have been going to the actual store to buy it.. I guess because I usually do start shopping so early and now there are no crowds in the store.. I cant believe its really christmas time already. ANother whole year has come and gone..

Yes, the year has flown by. I am currently researching ideas online and then I'll see if I buy online or offline. No sure yet.

hi taraelocin, online is my choice. i can surf the goods online cheaper than in market. it is really totally different in china. goods in market too expensive, but cheaper online. but there is one problem, that there are so many fake online. the first time online shopping was not pleasure to me. since i have been shopping online so many times. it is k for me.

Good point - online shopping also carries risks. I only tend to buy from safe shops I know.

I do both, but I must admit I am finding it easier, and easier to just do it online. I don't have to deal with crowds, grumpy people, pushing, shoving, and all the other nonsense. I like online very much.

Online tends to be quicker an less stressful (unless your internet connection breaks down...), that's true. But I still miss the human contact.

I do both when it comes to shopping. I will look online for ideas and compare prices. With books I will look at amazon.com because in most cases I do better on amazon because they are cheaper. One of the survey sites I do I get gift certificates for amazon and I use these to buy children's books for my niece and nephews. I will look online for electronics for my husband (my dad, my brother and my husband's best friend) have more knowledge than I do about electronics, so I send them the information and they tell me if it is good or bad. As for Christmas, this year it is going to be tight because my husband is working part-time and I am unemployed. I will be making a lot of homemade gifts. I am looking at places where I can cut corners.

I tend to buy most of my books on Amazon as well. It's so easy and the prices are good. Also I mainly have vouchers to use I gain from doing surveys. Homemade gifts can be lovely - my grandmother prefers this to bought gifts so I always make an effort.
