V Premiere, What did you think?

They really got far in to it in the first episode, even a glimpse of the reptile beneath. Several women from other SciFi shows starring in it. The one playing Anna who was in Firefly and was Adria in Stargate: SG 1 is a major character and did a really great job, just love her eyelid batting. The female doctor on Lost is now an FBI agent. And Laura Vandervoort goes from being a good alien on Smallville to being a bad(as in evil) alien on V.

I was flipping back and forth between V and a hockey game I was watching. I wanted to watch this show, as I remember liking it in the 80's. Although I couldn't remember much of the original, save for some aliens eating mice. I liked the concept of some sleeper aliens already living within us even before the aliens came. If you think about it, it makes sense for the aliens to do this. But, I am reserving judgement until I've watched a few shows. Let see...

I liked it. I didn't see the original in the 80s but watched it this weekend on the SciFi Channel. I also was surprised how this premiere immediately brought in concepts that didn't appear in the original after much time, i.e. reptiles, a resistance. I don't usually like alien shows but the opening episode of this one was intriguing. I'll also be reserving judgment until I've seen a few more shows. But, so far, so good.

I've heard nothing but good things about this show. Do you think it will hurt the show that it will only be airing four episodes, before being preempted by the Olympics for a month? I want it to succeed. I won't be watching it (I know this makes no sense to anyone, but those kind of shows make me "nervous"). Anyway, my sister told me she was going to watch it, so I'm anxious to see what she thought. She loves Flashfoward, and I read a couple reviews that said V was better than Flashfoward.

I was a big fan of the original eighties series so I'd really looked forward to this premiere. So far I think I'm going to like it. I'm not sure if I saw those other actresses before but they both looked familiar. I've liked the younger priest in several things, including 4400 and a few guest appearances and movie roles. Did anyone else notice there seems to be a little bit of a political theme here, maybe the writers and producers are trying to appeal to the conspiracy theorists/birthers...lol? It sure gives them some new angles, doesn't it, for those who can't tell fact from fiction! President Obama is really a "visitor" and one day someone will reveal his reptilian skin... Annie

I thought it was a great premiere, but it should've been two hours. In one hour it seemed very rushed. I watched most of the original mini-series in the past, and thought it was pretty good. So I'm hoping this show will be as great as that one, or better.

I think they wanted to get far into it just because of the original so they could get past some of what likely viewers would already know.
