Windows Vista was a major failure making the computer really slow. Hence MS fast tracked Windows 7 into the market. So what is the report on Windows 7? Is it worth the hype or is it another failure like Windows Vista? Cheers! Ram

Well, I think they make windows 7 to hide the biggest mistake that they made for windows vista. So, I already used both of it and I think windows 7 is much better than windows vista. The security and performance are much better than windows vista. Windows 7 is much more light than windows vista based on my experience when I using both of it before this. So, if you asked me about whether windows 7 is good enough. Well I will says yes of course. But Microsoft will always release a new windows like always in the future.

That is precisely what I wanted to know... I am currently happy with my Win XP, so to migrate to Windows 7, I need to know whether that would require me to upgrade my hardware as well... Cheers! Ram

Well, min is 512mb and max 192gb. If you asked me about the speed then I can tell you that windows 7 is much better than windows vista. But windows xp is much faster than windows 7. I think because windows xp use less RAM and less disk resources than windows 7. But still windows 7 is much better than windows vista and xp in security and stability.

I don't like it. Apparently it is vulnerable to 8 out of 10 virus'.

Windows Vista was not as bad as the general public tended to suggest. The problems were compatability, which would disappear in time as computers become updated, and the need for greater system resources which has always been the case with a new operating system. As for Windows 7, it is a vast improvement on Vista and should prove to be the best Windows released so far. I started with Windows 7 Beta about 7 or 8 months ago and now use the Windows 7 RC version. There are stillsome compatability issues because my CD writer does not get recognised or my scanner, but the situation is certain ti improve.

Thanks for your inputs. How about the RAM consumption and the general speed of the system? Cheers! Ram
