Purchases of brand names clothing accessories is highly different in terms of preference between young and old. The former prioritize buying brand name clothing based on the suggestion of their peers, and from influences of well known brand advertisement in all forms be it in television, billboards, magazines, internet, shopping display showcases or simply from the word of mouth.
The young, ranging from children have little tendency to be choosy in terms of buying brand versus generic types of clothing and opt for fun clothing not likely known the differences between brand or generic types of clothing. While, most teenagers know exactly and specifically identify their preferences of brand names of clothing apparels. In the cases of most old people have the ability to purchase and already tested those brand names of clothing and have more purchasing power. Thus, more wiser in terms of their brand name preferences. Their searches ranging from comparison of prices, reliability and comfort.
How about you, Who do you think have the stronger tendency to purchase brand names of clothing, Is it the Young or the Old? Who is more brand conscious? thanks

Definitely the young.. lol =D They only go for the latest trend, and the more expensive it is, they will think it's the more fashionable of all.. haha =D As more branded stuffs are expensive, and as such, they tend to associate prices to branding.. haha =D
BUt it's wrong!! Actual branded stuffs, are meant to last and have the right good quality, to match it's price tag.. So, it's only thru trial and error, then one will know, which are the real branded ones ^_^

that right and to be a wise buyer need to identify a good shop which only sell authenticated fashionable item duly authorized by the company to sell thir genuine products..
mostly are generic products and for budget conscious saving consumer it would not be a bad ideas to buy on it as long as the item easily changes it trend then it is quickly replace as well..

i think that would very much depend upon the budget or the purchasing capacity. here branded clothes are not very popular as they have a huge markup with apparently nothing better to offer. moreover traditional clothes are still popular here (especially with ladies) and there are rarely any brands for this category. another aspect is the pace of changing fashion. so even if people have more money they would go in for two or three different cheaper clothes rather than an expensive one.

hi sunny,
Yeah, comfort should be the foremost priority one need to think of and it would not bother if the clothes is branded or the generic types as long as it best fit in one personality. it is better to stay simple, comfort and yet still remain stylish. thanks.

hi lakota,
yup, i do agree and the young is more fashionable most of the times like to be updated in order not to get left behind by their friends who also fashion trend setters. Whew, that is very costly too buy expensive clothing and it would not hurt if one buy to those second hand shop or surplus store as long as the fabric is good and one feel comfort upon wearing it. have a great day!

When it comes to more brand conscious it is the young ones. As you said they are the one who are influenced by their environment, they are prone to be influence on everything they see and tend to believe it all quickly. As from old ones like me, I do not always depend on brand names, for me I do go for the brands that I am tested. Some old ones are economical and practical, they choose clothing brands not only tested but comfortable and long durability. They are like that because they are the ones who are earning the money, they want their hard earned money to go to a more quality products that they will benefit for long. Unlike children, they only depend on their parents, the only important for them is to be in in fashion, to be updated , not thinking of the money their parents have given to them.

I think it is definitely the young who insist on buying name brands or people w/alot of money. I am not either & could care less about the name brand things.

I think young people, especially teenagers, are more brand conscious than older people are. Like you said, they want to be like their peers. As you get older, you realize that it doesn't matter what brand it is, just so it's good clothing. Children usually want the expensive brands. I was the same way when I was a teenager and I don't mean to be talking about them in any way, but they need to realize that brand names don't make any difference. Kathy.

hi kathy,
yeah, that the truth and i young is more fascinated to purchases brand names items as they have to brag it to their peers while most of the elderly look more for comfort rather than buying the latest trends as they already have experience it before they also do the same things as most teenagers have done at present. I do believe too whether branded or generic clothing the price doesn't matter as long as fits the personality of the wearer and she know to carry herself not to become too fashion conscious. have a great day!

When I was a lot younger, I tend to be trendy and buy signature items or whatever is popular notwithstanding the price so as not to be out of place among my peers. But times have changed and so with my attitude to fashion, now I think more of functionality and not so much with the brand name. I am happy with any brand of denims as long as it fits me and the material is okay. They usually cost much less than the branded one. The same way with shoes, I don't really care about the brand anymore as long as it is durable enough, that's perfectly ok with me.
The younger generation are most likely to follow what is the trend in fashion. That said, some who belong to the older generation do to and mostly are those who can afford.
enjoy!

hi manong,
I am somehow similar to you as being young have a tendency to imitate the latest fashion trends and have to brag it with friends in order not to be left behind. As one grow mature and in you case you are already married, your priorities changes as well unlike when you are still single. Your focus is more in terms of self development and pleasing yourself by buying the branded item to pleasure yourself. But, now it changes as you venture in another situation for being a family man. Most of your time are devoted to family and providing their needs, instead of buying something which is not a basic needs. thanks
