I sleep with the lights on because i cannot really sleep in the dark alone.. there are too many things that goes in my mind which scares me. But usual i like to sleep with my tv on, i like to watch to a movie, and in this time for sure that i will sleep...if i don t have my tv on, i can t sleep. How do you prefear to have lights on or off when you sleep in the night?

I can sleep quickly if the lights turn off, because it is much easier to sleep and feel comfortable, and i can sleep also with lights whenever i am tired.

many years ago, i used to sleep with lights on because i was scared about dark. when i stayed home alone and i was always thinking about ghost which is scare me. but now i grow up, i don't believe in ghost any more and sleep with lights off, only make sure the windows and door locked for safe. it will influence my sleep to leave lights on.

I sleep lights off I'm only got scared to sleep in the dark if I watched hororr films that's why I'm avoiding to watched horror films at night. I can't sleep when the lights on because all of us here in our house used to sleep without light.

i used to sleep with a night light on. I don't like sleeping in the pitch black darkness. I don't have a night light any longer. I live the bathroom light on and the door open so the light will shine out into the hallway.

Hi icesmile! We're opposite :) I like sleeping with the lights off. Even if there's a small light on, I can't sleep well. I want it really dark :D I also can't sleep well with sound in the background. I want it to be really silent. Although there was a time before, in the past, when I was younger when I can't sleep when it's dark coz I was afraid. But I've overcome my fears now and got used to sleeping with the lights off :)

I do both. But with the energy crisis the earth and country is in plus my electric company's greed I've left those things off. At most it's some music.

I cant sleep well with the lights on unless Im drunk or something. But I developed the habit of sleeping listen to conservative radio commentators like Fred Thompson or Michael Medvev. I like to hear what the otherside is saying.

Well I too am scared of the daek although I'm in my twenties! I like to sleep with the television on also but I set the timer for an hour or so so it doesn't stay on all night. I also share a room with my sister because I have moved back home so it is not that scary anymore. Sometimes however I just can't sleep with the television on, especially when I'm having trouble falling asleep so I turn it off and put my head under the covers!

There was a recent study that showed that sleeping with the lights on might be bad for you. I do like a small light even in a hallway just so you can see if you get up during the night.

When the light is on it makes me hard to sleep. So I prefer to keep the light off to let myself sleep and relax.

I have to have absolute darkness when I sleep. Even light from the moon coming through my curtains bothers me.

I usually sleep with the lights off. I find it hard to sleep when the lights are on. I also have a tv inside my bedroom and I usually watch tv programs while lying down. This will help me sleep faster, all I have to do is to set the timer to my desired number of minutes or hours. I think I'm already used to this kind of set up so I guess, it will really depend on what you prefer.

Well, actually i prefer to sleep with the light off... Because, iVe allready get used to it, since i was a kid. Beside i am enjoy it! (to sleep in the dark) and feels more comfortable with that way, I've also ever heard before, that it is better/healthier to sleep in the darkness(with minimum/without light at all) then sleep with the light on. But, the problem is... Now that i am not sleep alone anymore, And it seems that my mates have a problem with/dislike to sleep in the darkness, she prefer to sleep with the lights on.. So, now i have to get used to it..huh! Sometimes when i really missed "the moment", i'll just turn off the light, when she's allready sleep.. But, if she's awake, then she will turn it on again! LMAO

My husband and I have a nightlight in our room. It puts a good amount of light, and also the shape on the ceiling looks like a dolphin somewhat though the light is down in a cowboy boot novelty! I used to not be able to sleep without some sort of noise and / or light, I am better at it though. Now when the powers goes off it's hot and I get a bit scared of not having any light to sleep with so we usually bring a battery operated lantern in our room to sleep with... Cuddling with my husband would be fine during these times but I get hot easily and he would ask me to get under the covers... so without a fan, I do not get under the covers, even with a fan I don't as I get hot... so you can imagine how hot I can get sometimes!

i prefer to lights off because when the lights on i always can't sleeping soundly, sometimes,i will open my eyes more than once during the night because of the room is too bright,it would be annoying me very much,as no good sleeping quality, the next morning i might to sleeping on the working hours. good luck and have a nice day!

I sleep with the lights off. It's just too bright otherwise and my sleep is not as good of quality. Sometimes I fall asleep with the tv on, but that is not as bright as the lights and I usually wake up in the middle of the night and turn it off.

As dark as possible, with very little noise. Of course the difference is, I'm a big burly guy. If someone broke into my house, I'd likely break him in half, or shoot him with my guy. Not that I'm a super strong guy, but I'm not scared of much. So I completely understand that some people need to feel safe and secure, and if that's the way you do it, more power to you.

I cannot sleep with the lights on unless I am really exhausted! Last night, I woke up and could not get back to sleep as my wife had the light on and was reading. I was able to go to sleep initially as I was very tired, but after about 2 hours sleep, I could not get back to sleep with it on!
