There are several brands of fake meat on the market. They are made from whole flour gluten, seitan,Textured Soy Protein (TSP). Baco and morning star or two that come to mind. They make imitation burgers, chicken, bacon, lunch meats. Some of them or quit good and taste almost like the real thing but don't have the same texture. They are good for someone trying to give up meat but have a hard time.
Depending on the recipe your planning to make you could just leave the meat out too. Lasagna can be made with spinach and leave out the meat for example.

Thanks. It must be hard if you once ate meat and now you can't or won't.

I'm not a vegetarian but I know some people eat beans or tofu in place of the meat. I've tried tofu and I didn't like it. I think it was just the texture maybe because it really doesn't have much of a taste to it.

Thanks. You are better than I.I wouldn't try tofu but it is good to know what to use instead of meat.

I have a friend that is vegetarian and I never make anything with meat substitutes for her. Instead of that I use all kinds of dairy products and veggies. I can make a very nice minestrone without meat. I use a veggie cube for flavour and put the usual veggies and legumes. The pesto and the parmesan cheese do the rest. YUMMY!!!
Have a lovely day!
