Do work/comment to improve your reputation at Mylot?

The recent decrease in reputation has brought to light many people who keenly track their reputation. Many have worked hard to improve their reputation. Also many still try to improve their reputation here. I do not track my reputation closely. I did not care much during the recent fall. I would be concerned if it kept falling for me alone. I prefer to just work based on my mood and the type of discussion without worrying about the reputation or the cash involved. What about you guys?

vanillarey hi I do that to I think, work as my mood pushes me and respond to whatever interests me,giving preference to my friends first of course. I do tend to work a lot here as I have to use my lot earnings to pay for my internet bill, but I do not dwell on that as I enjoy responding to all my friends discussions and making a few of my own now and then. My reputation does not worry me as it looks as if I will just go on and on being an 8 although my rating haS movced up from 79 to 84 so maybe one day I will get a red star but I really dont care either way. JUst so I do not go down again. lol. mainly i just want to have fun here.

Well I'm only in myLot for one thing and that is to earn money. I do the tasks if I have time or if I feel like doing them and I participate in discussions if I dont have something else to do in the internet. The good is I also earn while I do that. So regarding with your question, Im not after for any reputation thing here in myLot.

I don't pay much attention to my star although I would notice if it changed. I simply plug along and respond to discussions that I am able to give some kind of input. Lately I do notice what my number is in relation to the category. For example if the discussion is listed in the "craft" discussion section, I'll see where I am positioned after responding to a discussion.

I just to come here to Mylot daily to earn a little bit of money and to have some fun and correspond with some friends and acquaintances here. I really do not track my reputation here either because I do not think it is accurate anyway.

Its kind of nice to see a perfect 10 on your reputation but i don't necessarily try to be nice or edit my replies just to get a good feed back. I'm still keeping it real but not arrogant also...

I feel pretty much the same way. I have my moods like anyone else I think. Since I hit the last star I haven't worried about my reputation much. I enjoy the comaraderie most I think and am surprised at who I bring into my discussions sometimes. I answer the ones I like and say what I like. The cash is just icing on the cake.

If you are referring to the recent debacle here, then I too was not really worried. It was happening to everybody around here and the only thing I wanted to know was whether our earnings would be affected too…some were saying that for that particular day, no matter how much they had participated, there was almost no payment. However, I’ve checked my payment today and it was as usual…nothing to make me feel sad. It was a shocker though to suddenly see myself going from flaming red to ‘shocking’ pink LOL

Hi vanillarey, To be very frank and honest I never worked for reputation. But if it goes down I may feel bad and start to think, did I hurt anybody to rate me negatively. The reason for this feeling is I know our reputation is based on the ratings of other members. If somebody feels to rate me negatively then there should be some reason from our side. So I may think, what would have wrong thing. The recent fall affected the whole population so it gave some shock in the first instant then I forget about the same.

I don't consciously work to improve my reputation, although seeing a high rank star beside my name pleases me a lot. I answer discussions that interest me, and sometimes I post passionately specially when the topic is close to my heart - and admittedly I have offended some who didn't like my train of thought. So I can't say really that I watch my star closely, otherwise I would be more careful in making comments so as not to rile other myLotters. But if ever my star will change its color, I would somehow be bothered and want to know why.

I don't really care about reputation and I wouldn't know how to go about changing it - if I post my opinion about a subject in a discussion, thats my opinion, its not going to change if I think it will get me a better reputation. I post according to what I think and feel, I appreciate my friends on here and the responses I get, and it is nice if someone gives you best response. But I go by what interests me really and if I earn some money too then great.

When the rating dropped yesterday, at first, when I noticed mine, I thought I must've done something wrong. Then when I saw everyone else was having the same problem, well, it was obvious that there was a bug. Overall, I don't track my reputation here. I try to give good responses by not limiting myself to one or two sentences. I give as much input as I can to give an appropriate answer. I don't think I go out of my way to be the best though. I just spend time here and enjoy while trying to make money at the same time.

I worry about my reputation, because what reputation was stands for the discussions you made, and how the quality of the discussion you made. I hope I can keep my reputation at mylot. Happy mylotting.

I wasn't worried for a minute when our stars plummeted, and I'm somewhat surprised some veteran mylotters were. Mylot has glitches all the time, and eventually they fix them. I have had an 8 star, a nine star, and a ten star through my time on mylot. And although mylot fantatics want to remind us all that our reputation stars do impact our earnings, I have never seen that happen with me. My star reputation has never changed my earnings in a positive or negative way. I've paid attention, and I know what the stupid guidelines say, but I've not seen any kind of affect.

I have been away from mylot for almost 2 weeks... and now that i am back... i haven't even given the mylot reputaion any thought... right now... i don't even know if i still have by 10 blue star... i think we should just try to enjoy our stay here without stressing over the reputation thingy... because only the mylot admin knows how that works...

I am not here for reputation or money alone either and I could have lived with the rating drop and continued my work here as usual although what upset a lot of people and me too to a certain extent was the injustice of such big drop in our reputation ratings. It would be one thing to have a drop in ratings because of your general behaviour but to see a drop for no apparent reason upset a lot of people. I enjoy my good rating here and a lot of work has gone into it but it isn’t my primary reason for being here and, let’s face it our reputation and behaviour in the ‘real’ world is probably more important don’t you think?

Quite honestly, until the recent discussions regarding the stars and reputation, I never really paid attention. I still don't really. I participate in myLot simply to find out what everybody else is thinking about, talking about, etc. I participate in discussions that I feel something about or feel I can contribute to. Every once in a while I'll even start a discussion. My reputation is what it is. I try not to offend and try to give intelligent repartee. That's about it.
