How do you study?

I usually just read the chapter and draw an outline then do my homework. Is there a better way? I mean how can I remember massive amounts of facts and principles? I've been a student for, hmmm... maybe forever and I just want to increase the way I learn so that I can learn more efficiently not just in class but in life. Everyday is a chance to gain knowledge and if there is a way that you may have I hope you'll post so that we can all learn how to increase our knowledge.

Each one has a different way to learn and unless you understand how you learn, you can't figure out the right way that works for you. Some people learn by sight and ome people by hearing...some others need to write it down themselves to be able to learn better. Some like light music in the background to be able to learn. Each person's brain is wired in a different way. Personally, for me, I take a topic...and read up on different books on the same matter and then I make my own notes...that's the way that works for me. But it never worked for my sister....she would get distracted by all the reading and would prefer just one set of notes. So, first figure out what works for you and do that systematically.

I read and take notes on the key points. I think that it is more important to understand the main idea of what you are reading than trying to remember small details (unless your teacher is a stickler for this). Usually when I see the key points that I have jotted down, it helps me to remember in more detail what I have read.

The thing that really helps me is writing everything down. It takes a long time and my hand is sore afterwards but by writing down notes from my text book the information is actually sinking into my head and it is a great way to remember things. I am the type of person where reading things or listening to things isn't enough for me to understand it or fully grasp the concept. Writing helps me understand things a lot better. Good luck with your studies.

You do whatever your teacher tells you to do:P Do your homeworks, read your notes after school, and be very attentive to the teachers. Talk about your courses with your friends.

By reading...be a wide reader of different varieties. In school i use to copy all the lesson copying make your brain works so without you knowing it you are already studying while listening. Then in doing assignments or memorizing i tend to answer all test that the book always contains at the end of the chapter. And there's also an answer located at the back of the book usually.

I usually outline the chapter before class time so I have an understanding of what will be discussed. While I am making my outline, I will write down any questions that I have at that time so I can ask when the time comes in class. I also like to answer the questions they usually have at the end of the chapter as well, to make sure I understand what is being said. This method has helped me a lot to have a better grasp of the course materials and it allows more time to listen to the lecture to not have to worry about taking notes. but, of course, if there is something that the teacher goes in to more details on than the book did, then i will take notes on that. Hopes this helps!

Well, I use index cards, and markers. I also use those little color tags that you can stick on pages. The index cards contains summaries or words that I flip through, even when I'm on the bus or out doing something. I also used to have a white board in my room where I put important things there so everytime I pass it or walk by, I'd see it and remember it. I had that in my room when I was in High School.

Hello! What i often do is, I read the entire page and highlight the important facts. Aftre moving on the next page, i review the highlighted words and try to explain everything about it verbally. I must say its effective and I easily remember facts doing that. goodluck to you :)

For me, studying is very simple: 1. Ask God for help. 2. Sleep sufficient. 3. Put attention, a lot. (If you are interested in something it's X5 times more probably that you will learn it.) 4. Study relaxed, without distractions, if you are relaxed, you will learn easily. Hope it helps.

I used to read every day. I didn't master the material if I have to learn when approching the test. Because it just makes me stress. Learn while listening to music really fun. But don't listen to melow music. Melow music makes me sad and can't concentrate.

I usually read the chapter at first and after that I divide it into different parts. I write some notes for each part of the chapter, I usually try to write some questions and then I answer them myself. Questions and answers is a good way for me to understand the things that I read. When I was studying anatomy at nursing school I made a lot of small cards, and I wrote the Latin words on the cards. Then I photocopied the drawings from my book and removed the names so that I could practice with the cards.

For me I just use flashcards when studying. All the main concepts end up being placed on them and therefore no matter where I'm at I can easily study. It is a lot easier than trying to flip through a notebook while I'm on the bus going to class. Also, I make sure to do all the reading assigned and attend all my classes. It has been shown the more you go to class the more you'll be able to retain and remember. Also, if you do all the reading and take notes on the reading its another chance to be able to look over the notes and remember them. Just remember that cramming is never the best studying policy.

i used textbooks instead of my notes jotters and i rewrite the important notes in seperate notebooks for each subject, it's also handy for the day before an exam since you can just skim through the rewritten and more important notes.

The most important factor of education is - Self diagnosis.. You should always be aware of your talents, strengths and weaknesses. Things are easier if you have the intend to work hard.. For me the most important part is about motivating myself to spend time to study.. (for instance.. this my exam - study leave period.. and I'm still spending little time on the internet.. ) Once you are done with.. that - You can not down anything you study into brief points or in a pictorial manner.. Try different techniques. - Whatever you do.. It will be easier to refresh your memories reading your own handwriting. Even one word will do to refresh a whole vast topic. Try different surroundings.. eating habits...etc and switch to the situation that allows you to concentrate the best - trust me, these matters a lot.. as more the concentration - less time you need to cover more topics.. [Try the golden time of 3 am to 6 am.. works for most as it is said in the epics that the concentration levels are double that of what we can get during day time..) Hope these tips help!.. Best of Luck!

Well everyone has a different method for studying that fits them best. I'll share my method, and you can try it if you find it usefull. I'm the type that listens the lesson in the class and taking small notes. Listening the topic from a good teacher is usually enough for me. If i dont understand some point, i either ask that immediatly, or note it to ask when teacher is available (Some teachers wait until class end to answer questions and dont like interruptions on their speech). After learning the topic, i repeat the topic i've learned when i have time. Reading the lesson from textbook and reading the notes i wrote down on class helps a lot, if i have any problems about something i ask friends first and to teacher as last resort.
