TO THE PARENTS: Do you find it weird?

Do you ever find it fascinating that..okay, when we were younger, we had these favorite bands and everything... favorite actors, actresses...and then the history repeats itself...your daughter or son ends up like the same thing, but not from your influence. I loved Molly Ringwald as a kid and now my daughter loves her (and has for years), but I mean, do you know what I mean? I liked Molly before she was born and now that she likes it...it's kinda weird, right? Or is it "comfortable"? LOL
