At What Age Did You Start Wearing Eyeglasses?

When I was a child, I admire those people who wears and uses eyeglasses. I find them smart and genius as well. And as time goes by, I am imagining my self wearing an eyeglass. I ask my mom if she can buy one for me. Days passed by, she just ignore my request and she did not buy any for me. What I did, I bought a plastic toy eyeglass frame without any glass within. I always wore that wherever I go especially in going to school. And when I reach my adolescent age, I try to save money to buy a real one. Then I start to use a geniune eyeglass. The eyeglass that I am using does not have any power at all. I just use it for fun and style. However, as I grow old, during my early 20's, I notice that my eyes needs a much real eyeglass, the one with power. To my surprise, I am a nearsighted and need to wear an eyeglass of 250 power to see the far distance. Then, slowly I realize, that if you start to wear an eyeglass, though it does not have any power, slowly, your eyes will go for it because the effect of the glass into our eyes is quite critical. How about you, are you having fun in wearing an eyeglass? At what age did you start wearing an eyeglass? Is that an eyeglass with power?

My eyes are horrible. I've been wearing glasses since I was in second grade, so I was about seven years old. They weren't bad at first, but as I got older they got worse. I don't know what my perscription is, I haven't had my eyes checked in 3 years [although once my insurance kicks in, I'll be going in.] I don't love my glasses, really, because I feel that they hide my eyes, and they give me dark lines under my eyes where they sit. I want contacts, but I will still have a pair of back-up glasses, in case I run out of contacts or something.

Good day to you. With regard to your concern, maybe you can use some remedy to the dark lines under your eyes. Perhaps, you can ask a beauty expert in that particular aspect. Also, I think there are some fashionable eyeglasses that may enhance your eyes. Have a nice day.

Just like you,i really admire those people with eyeglasses which i alway take as a symbol of rich knowledege or wisdom, while i was a little boy...Sometimes i also wore a toy eyegalss for showing to childhood company. unfortunately, the bad thing happen to me,I have been starting to wear eyeglasses sine i entered into high school at 15 yrs old.i realize afterward it is not funny anymore, trouble is coming, several times the tides flush my eyeglasses away while swimming. my nearsightedness gets worse each year from 1 diopter begining to 6 diopters till now,i am trying to get rid of it and think about nearsightedness modification.however,it is not a small thing and i fairly fear of operation on my eyes cause i worry about the maturity of this technology. Give some advice for guys who will not want to be nearsighted 1.keep good-distance while reading rooks 2.avoiding playing too much oneline game 3.vision training is always needed ....and so on.. U will have a more brighter future..

Oh wow... Since when was being in your early 20s considered old? I didn't start wearing glasses until about... 28? I think that's about when I finally got some. I probably actually started to need them in my early 20s, but I didn't have the "OMG! I really DO need glasses" until my mid to late 20s. No, I don't like wearing them. I HATE wearing them and don't think they're stylish at all. On me, anyway. I tend to like them on other people.

I had power in my eyes when I was 12 years old. Since that age I have been wearing glasses. I also have problem with my far sight. I have grown so accustomed to my glasses that I do not feel them as a burden or anything.

..Hi airashelia, I can't remember when I started wearing eyeglasses, but I cam remember one of ny teachers letting my parents know that I had trouble seeing the blackboard, They took me to an eye doctor and I got my first pair of glasses. I don't know about genius, but people with glasses look a bit studious, why I don't know. At any rate I think that I would trade my glasses for two well sighted eyes any day, although I would want to keep my eye color of green. :o) Easy does it.

I started wearing eyeglasses when I was 10 years old, I think. Pretty young, huh? When I turned 13, my eye doctor recommended contacts. I started with 50/50 eyesight and now I'm 500/500 just because I didn't really take care of my eyes... now I hate and regret not doing so.

I got my first glasses when I was in junior high. I did not pass an eye exam that was given at the school. They call my parents and I went to the eye doctor. I was thirteen years old when I got my first glasses.

I was five. I hated it. In middle school I used contacts. Then around ninth grade I started wearing glasses again. I thought I looked better with them. I'm in my 30's now and still think I look better with the glasses.

I first started wearing eyeglasses in middle school, so I'd say I must have been 12. Didn't like the fact other people didn't like them, but I was excited at my first pair of glasses!! Weird kid, I guess!

I started wearing eyeglasses at the age of 11 . I was so into reading books that even at night I would be reading when lying on the bed. Sometimes even if there is not much light in a room I would still be reading. I am nearsighted when I was at that age my eyeglass grade was 125 and 175. Now its 325 for both eyes.

I was about 11 or 12 when I first started wearing glasses. At first i refused to wear them as I did not want any one to know I had to wear glasses. But as I got older I realised that I was only doing my eyes harm by not wearing them. I am short sighted but am no longer bothered about wearing them as I do not need to wear them all time.

I first started wearing eyeglasses when i was nine. I was devastated. The school nurse failed my eye exam and told my parents I needed glasses. Kids can be so cruel about wearing glasses. Somehow i managed to get through it. I still wear eyeglasses today. I just wasn't comfortable about contacts. I haven't graduated to bifocals yet, but that day is bound to come.

I started to wear glasses in first grade. At first, it was quite strange, because i was not accustomed to the feeling, but as time moved on, so did I. I eventually got over it, and people have told me that I even look smarter with my glasses on, although that is just an example of stereotyping of a person. My glasses needed more power starting at the graduation of elementary school, fifth grade, ten years old.
