Do You Use CD/DVD Copies, Keep Originals for Backup?

Do you make copies of store-bought CDs and DVDs, and use the copies but keep the originals for backup? Why, besides to reduce scratches on the originals?

I usually make copies of CD's for the purpose of keeping the original CD scratch-free. This is OK specially for those hard to find CD's
