I think the the main reason behind this was team selection.Yusuf pathan and Rahul dravid was not selected.Kohli and jadeja both are not ideal for 50 over match.

well it was quite possible that the team was over confident and also they were not playing up to their potential. they lost because they played bad. And took everything casually. The Australians on the other hand had points to prove and so they never made any mistakes and never gave chances. Where as we failed to grab the chances that we got and in the end, the better team won the series.

I think it was more a story of which team was more hungrier for victory than anything. India lost one match by 3 runs and another by 4 runs which itself is an indication that the matches were too close to call, but when it mattered the Aussies showed why they are world no. 1. They fight as a unit and I think the game changer was not batting or bowling, but fielding. The honors were even in both batting and bowling more of less, but Aussies won the fielding aspect completely. It was really a learning lesson for Dhoni and his men that they could not even vanquish a injured Aussie lot, but then the injuries actually ensured that the men who played for Australia were extra motivated and not jaded out as some of the India stars. Cheers! Ram
