We should all get at least 8 hours of sleep in a day. That's what they say. Well, at least when we're young we can actually get this kind of rest, but as we grow old, our sleep diminishes by a couple of hours. Sometimes we find ourselves just sleeping for only 5 hours or less. Also, with our current situation, the crisis and all. We are bound to spend more hours with work than sleep. Nowadays, how many hours do you get to sleep in a day? As for me, I work at dawn shift. So I find myself sleeping at least 4 hours. Although if I get to sleep more than 7 hours, I tend to feel energized than my usual sleeping habit.

6 hours of sleeping is greatly enough for normal men, for children 8 hours gives complete rest. So we are spending nearly 24/3rd of time to sleep and this is very essential to start a fresh day ahead. But I'm simply sleeping up to 12 hours a day. I'm trying to wakeup early in the morning hours, its really hard for me to do that.... Every day I keep alarm to wake up, but when it alarm I automatically switch it off and continue sleeping. I'm trying myself hard to wake early...

Hi there, I have less sleep after I have my own kids. time is so precious for me, I have to get my time to be used to the maximum. But I am sure I need to make myself sleep at least 6 hours a day. For my kids, they are still small. I make sure they get enough sleep everyday. I think 12 hours of sleeping time is good for baby and toddlers. I let them sleep for 10 hours a day and take 2 hours nap in the afternoon. So they got the total of 12 hours sleeping time.

I have a difficult staying asleep at night. I will wake sometimes 4-5 times a night. On the most part I guess you would say that I get about 6-7 hours of sleep a night. I always wake up feeling like I haven't slept much at all. Maybe tonight will be better for me... Have a nice day and keep smiling..

i sleep about 7-8 hours a day but it is a saying in my language that eating, sleep and social activities can be increased or decrease as much as u want. so it depends upon individual but health sleep is about 6-8 hours a day. its no less than 6 hours and no more than 8 hours. if u sleep too much u feel sleepy all day and specially if u sleep during the day.

I don`t have a job now, but i`m in college and i have some other things to do , and sometimes i sleep just 5-6 hours, and it`s fine, but i`m not having all the energy that i need . If i sleep 7-8 hours, it`s like my batteries are full and ready for any challenge . I`ve heared that the most resting sleep it`s from 23 to 01 in the night .

Hi, I sleep only for 5hrs in a day.Even if I try to sleep more than that I won't get it due to my age and retirement. With 5hrs of sleep, I get energized and feel fresh. My mind becomes alert. That is it.In my opinion, 5hrs of sound sleep is sufficient unless otherwise disturbed. Thanks. Happy my lotting to you pls.

sleep is natural part of everybody's life, but many people known little about how important it is and some even try to get by with little sleep.sleep is something our body need to do;it is not an option .even though the exact reasons for sleep remains a mystery,we do known that during sleep many of the body's main organs and regularity system continue to work actively.some part of the brain actually increases their activity dramatically and the body produces more of certain hormones..sleep like diet and exercise is important for our mind and body to function normally......

I can only sleep 5-6 hours a day since I sleep late at night like 12:00 or 1:00. I need to wake up early around 6:00am because my son have to go to school. I need to prepare breakfast and send him to school every morning. I can only have more sleeping hour in holidays. I recharge myself in my holidays for sleeping instead of going out.

I sleep about 6 hours each night. Honestly, I hate it. I have work until about 11 PM each night and have conferences that often go really late. My wife sleeps about 8 hours and I try to make my children sleep 7-8 hours each night.

Hi mchavez: 4 hours! have you said 4 hours! that's incredible to me even if my sleep-o-meter lol changes regullary day after day. XD lol. I slept 6 hours yesterday but this changes day after day. Now that i'm not working every morning except for the mondays, i used to go to my bed after midnight and sleep untill 10 am so that means more than the regular 8 hours that everybody said are the minimum. But if it's necessary i can sleep 4-6 hours. Thanks for posting this topic. It's really interesting to find someone that tells me i'm not the only one who sometimes sleep less than the minimum 8 hours. Have a nice day.

Well it's official - the secret to looking and staying young is something we continually had drummed into us from childhood. It's sleep and the truth is, most people do not get enough of it. It's an anti-aging solution which is RARELY discussed. Well, not as a solution to slowing down the process of looking old. Anti-aging and lack of sleep can affect people in several ways. For example, it can impact a person's facial features, their weight and believe it or not, it can also impact a person's lifespan. The suggested sleep time a person should get is between seven to eight hours. Less can impact many facets of our existence.
