If you could be granted one wish, what would it be?

If you could be granted one wish, what would it be and why? For me, the one wish that I'd love to have granted is for our family to be totally out of debt. We live in a society where people have to deal with debt every day of their lives and it isn't a lifestyle that I enjoy. I can't wait until the day when we don't have to worry about owing money to other people and are able to actually concentrate on ourselves and our children for a change.

I would wish to be out of debt and to also have our house paid off in full. I also wish that I can find a full time job so I can get out of the house more often. I am a stay at home wife and sometimes it gets boring. All I do is watch tv and am on the computer. I love being on mylot and making a little money, but I wish I could make a little bit more. I would love to have a family of my own, but want to have more money saved up. Right now we do not have a savings account, but I wish we did.

My husband and I don't have a savings account at this time either. However, we are planning on opening one next year with our tax return. I too am a stay at home mother and sometimes I really wish that I was able to get out of the house more often as well. It does get monotonous to be at home all day every day, but then I think about the benefit for my children in the future and I stay at home with them longer.

I have no children at this time so it does get boring sometimes. I like making friends on mylot and it does help me get through the bad times, but I still miss working outside the home. I wish you all the best and am really glad that we are friends.

LOL. That is probably a wish that a lot of people would have. One things for sure, if you were the favorite son of Bill Gates you'd never have to worry about your financial outlook.

Both of these wishes would be wonderful things to have come true in your life. However, I think yo made the right decision in saying you wish they'd find a cure for your wife's eye ailment. By having that wish come true, I'm sure both her and your quality of life would go up.

My earnest wish in life since five years ago is to find the right man for me and get married. This is the content of my daily prayers to God since I turned 30, but up to now, even a slight indication, is not visible. I am beginning to lose hope but then towards the end of the day I am still very positive that God always grant wishes to those who faithfully believed in His power and Glory, so here I am still optimistic that I can get married one of these days. Hope God this time will prioritize my prayers. :-(

When I got married five years ago, I had a friend tell me at my wedding that she was very happy that I found the right man for me. She said, I don't think that I will ever find the person that I want to spend my life with. Well, just five months after my husband and I got married, she got married as well to a wonderful man that takes great care of her. Even if you lose faith in finding a husband, I'm sure that it will happen for you in time.

Hi Dorann. I have thought of this more than once. There is so much suffering in the brave people of this world...hurt, pain, war, disease. I think if it were possible and I could choose only one wish, it would be for healing of pain, all kinds, for everyone. Karen

Since my husband didn't have much work for several years, we accumulated lots of debt. We are trying to pay things off, but it is taking forever. My one wish would be to be debt free as well. Then we would be able to help our children too.

I agree with you, I feel like if our family was given the opportunity to be debt free we would never find ourselves in the mess that we've found ourselves in and we'd be able to do a lot more beneficial things with our lives.

hi dorannmwin, If wishes were horses then beggars would ride is one idom very popular here and i would definitly want to ride the wish horse. What i would want is a guy who i like so much , likes me back as more than a friend. If i can get this wish then i wont need to ever wish again because there is no guy on earth like him and he always make me laugh and feel special but then he does to all his friends male or female.. so i can not take it more than friendship..but i wish it was more.

What a great wish to have. I know that there is a person out there that will help you to fulfill your wish in life. And at that time I know that you will be the happiest woman alive.

For me, one wish that I'd love to be granted is to get rid of CREDIT CARDS, so that all of us will be debt-free. We can save for the future. Credit cards ruins family, relationship , work and etc. I want to go back to simple living. Like our grandparents and parents. Before they don't have this plastic cards and they survived and are happy. Can we go back to those times?

I don't know that society in general is able to go back to those times, but I know that it is possible for a family to make the decision to go back to that kind of lifestyle. My husband and I, in fact, just did this two months ago. It's been two months since we've used a credit card for anything and even though we don't have a lot of money in the bank where we are trying to pay off our prior debt, we are happier because we are living within our means that naturally we have instead of living in means that are artifically created.

If I could be granted one wish??? It would be to give my family hindsight. My children are just stepping out into the world on their own. They are at the beginning stages of learning all of the hard lessons life has to throw at them... If they could know right this second all that they will know when they are, lets say 50, OH! The different choices they would make for them selves. Thank you for your post. It feels good to lay it out there!

I too would have liked to have been able to see these things in my past. I know that when I first stepped out into the world there were poor decisions that I made and had I known the outcome of them I would have never made those kind of decisions.
