I was checking out lasic surgery and ran across some sites for healing your eyes thru exercises and visulizations related to reducing stress and such. Has anyone heard of this or tried it? And if you have tried it what were the results?

If you really work at it yes you can improve your eyesight.

Merry christmas to you too. Yes It does help but takes lot of patience and persistent effort, so manyu opt for shortcut method by spending some money.

I think I'd rather be patient and persistant. I've been talking to my husband about it. His eyes are getting farsighted and maybe we can do this together it sure would help having a support person right in your own home.

I think in my case my short sighted-ness is too bad for anything other than surgery to correct. Maybe this kind of thing could work if you have just a small problem with your eyesight, but i don't think it would work on bigger problems. Either that or it'd take such a long time!

You never know until you try. To me I would rather try this then spend thousands of dollars on a surgery even if it does take a long time. I happen to have very bad eyesight and although I haven't been able to keep up with the exercises as I would have liked to I have seen some improvment in my eyesight.

I've heard of this and have heard people say that it works. I would like to try this myself. I didn't even need glasses until I was in my late 20's which is odd. I worked for an optometrist for several years (doing pretesting) and I wonder if that affected my eyes any. It seems like I get more and more nearsighted.

there are several good info sights about it. I was actually researching Lasic eye surgery when I ran across the information. Lets see I typed in Eye correction or something like that in the search box. I bought a book with tapes for about 35 dollars. But there were others just as good it seemed. type seflhealing the eyes or something like that and you should come up with the links. Here is the link I got mine thru. www.bettervision.com It comes with a book and CD's and charts to help with the exercises.

I will have to search this myself. It might help me some. It is bad enough that I get double vision sometimes and lose my eye sight for a few days every now and then from having ms so this might really help my conditon thank you.

I'm working on it right now. I ordered a book with CD's and the charts needed to do the exercises. I'm not sure how much it will help if your sight is deterorating because of MS but it sure as heck can't hurt it.

I've not heard too much about this, but I am wondering if it works so well, why doesn't everyone do it? I mean I know that eye doctors would lose out on money if no one had eye problems lol...I have very little vision in my right eye, in fact, I only wear one contact lens in my left eye because even the strongest lens wouldn't help. I can't imagine exercises helping that. I was born that way, and it's never changed. Do the exercises claim to work on everyone or just some slight vision problems?

No, from the book I read about it it does not work on everyone. Usually if there is a know cause of why your sight has gone bad then it usually doesn't help and it never claimed to be able to help everyone. The thing is is most eyes start going bad with no known cause. Things just start getting unfocused. From what I have read it is believed that stress and bad habits that you started developing as a child can cause your eyes to go bad. Just as your body muscles tense up when under stress so too can your eyes muscles and this causes them to pull unevenly on the eye causing the muscules to change the shape of the eye. Which in turn causes vision problems. Also an interesting fact I found out when reading was that when you are daydreaming with your eyes open your brain has a hard time distinguishing from reality and the daydream. Ever notice how something that is real becomes slightly unfocused when you are thinking deeply about something or daydreaming with your eyes open? I never really thought about it until I read a book about it. And you know what its true. I can remember countless times of this happening to me. I was always off in my own little world as a kid and I started to have to wear glasses as a child too. Poor brain didn't know what to focus on. It sure is interesting reading. As to why more people don't know about it or use it is probably because they are skeptical. I know I sure was when I first ran across it. But as I dug more I could actually pin point things in my own life which may have helped cause my eyes to go bad. My eyes are so bad now that I have acutually thought about surgery. That is actually what I started to research about when I ran across this self healing of the eyes. You know I think I would rather spend a few dollars on a book and some tapes and learn to do some exercises and other things first before I cut into my eye and pay $20,000. If it doesn't work it was still interesting and I learned more about my eyes then I ever did in school.

I have never tried this and i must admit that this is also the first time that i have heard of it also!! I would really love to check it out though as i have poor eyesite and i would even go as far as lasic surgery to change this. If healing your eyes can really work though i would definately be up to trying it!!!

I was checking out lasic surgery when I ran across this. I bought a book and have been doing some of the exercises. I haven't got very far into the exercises as yet and can not yet say if it has helped me. It takes several months. Although I can see a change in one of the exercises called fusion beads. It is interesting. And I much prefer trying this to the more drastic lasic sugery. Not to mention this is much more cheaper.

I suspect it can help strengthen some eye conditions but not others. Certainly the idea has been around for a long time and I have met people who claim good results from it, but logically its only muscular problems that might be corrected that way, issues with the lens for example probably can't be helped much, but its all part of a complete treatment. Good question!

I actually bought a book on the exercises. It not only explains how the eyse and muscles work but how stress and nutirition and even emotional problems, which can cause stress, effect your eyes. It is very interesting. Stress in your eye muscles cause different ones to contract while others don't get enough exercise. This according to the specialist changes the shape of the cornea which cause blurred vision.

This is really interesting. I had heard of this before but have never known anyone who had tried it or even did any research on it. If you have tried any of it I would love to hear what kind of results you have had.
