At my school my group and I have to do a community service project. Only one group per organization. Everything we thought of has already been used, so I did some research and came across my local make a wish foundation. I have contacted them to see what we could do. I was thinking if we did fundraising, we could try to get people to donate at least $1. I even thought of a catch phrase! "Donate $1, help make a wish come true!" What do you think??? Any ideas, opinions, or even ideas on fundraising would be greatly appreciated!!!

I don't know if I am practical enough because I am not from your part of the world but how about something like this: There are people who may be poor and in need of money. you have to somehow find small works like typing, data entry, rewriting etc which requires just the basic skills and you employ the people in need. Now you may take the small part of the money from the earnings and you raise funds too...

Yes, your idea is good. Helping others' wishes come true. I have also tried doing several community service as project. But for me, it is much better if you try to exchange their donation with your services. I usually avoid asking donations from people without anything in exchange because most of the time, people will just ignore it, knowing the fact that they won't benefit anything from you. It's sad but that's how rude people can be sometimes. While I am still a student nurse, I collect small amounts of money from the people who wants their blood pressure be monitored. Small amount they can afford and willing to give. I also set up a livelihood program wherein I taught the mothers how to make money from their homes. I also conducted health teaching seminar on families in the communities regarding health prevention. Again, they paid me with money they can afford. After my stay in the community, I was able to raise a good amount of funds. I then gave this to the less fortunate members of their community and I mentioned that it is not from me, but rather from the help of the other community members.
