Are you happy with the taxes that you pay?

Do you think that the taxes you pay are worth it? Do you get the benefit of paying these taxes? Or do you think that you are being unnecessarily taxed and the money is not being put to real use? What is your take on this topic? Cheers! Ram

Wow!! That's too less, but don't you have federal taxes which should be around 25-30% of your revenues? Cheers! Ram

No. I feel I'm being ripped of because of the taxes. Romania has one of the highest number of taxes in the World. Of course that not all of them are taken form the salary (some of them are taxes on the land, etc.) I feel I'm being ripped of because I don't see too many things done for those taxes - the police and justice employees are corrupt, so they give me no sense of security, even if they are paid from the taxes I pay. I don't see any improvement in the road network (we have about 200 km of highway, built in 20 years - this year, the Romanian Government managed the performance of building 42 km of highway, of which they are really proud ) I've had some small benefice by means of medical services, but the amount of money given by the Government to the health and education systems is minor...

I don't know about such a survey, but I know that among the European countries Romania was the second or third most corrupt country, after Albania and, maybe, Bulgaria.

Wow! I thought the Indian government was the worst. Looks like I was wrong. BTW, there is a survey of most corrupt nations. Any idea where Romania comes in that list. India is in the middle point around 85th in total of 180 nations in that list. Cheers! Ram

I can always complain about the taxes that I pay. Here's the difference between Florida and California and Washington. Our home in Southern Cal is 1750 sq ft and our property taxes are almost 4 grand this year. We also own a 1200 sq ft condo in Washington state and our taxes on that property are $1830 per year. I'm moving to Florida! We also have the highest sales tax rate in the country in L.A. I don't think that I would mind paying the taxes so much if the money was put to good use but for the most part, I think that the money is wasted. We have such a tax and spend legislature in this state that it's ridiculous. That's why DH and I are getting out next year. Between taxes, congestion and water rationing, it's no longer a pleasant place to live.

I am not and whoever in the right frame of mind would say it alright, especially if you work below the normal average income. When, in fact it is you who sweat and what do i need to partake when it could be taxed upon is far as long as your age is below the taxable age and below wage hours then you are exempted. Though at the moment it could not be remove as it is not tax free in my account thus i opt to appreciate those countries who have tax free policy like those who work in middle east.

I only pay VAT or BTW as we call it here. I don't even pay social taxes. Happens when you're disabled here.

the estimate here in Virginia is that including the state and federal income tax plus property, sales, and whatever other taxes that i cant remember right now that the average is they take half of your lifetime revenue. this disgusts me because most of the money seems to just disappear into nowhere. i think this country has too many secret government projects that are far too expensive and not helping anyone but the warmongers in the military top ranks but thats just my little conspiracy theory.
