My Nanna never had a phone in her house so sometimes we would just pop round, my mum was the sort of mum who never put our art work up in the house when we were young so we used to take it to my Nanna's and she used to put it up in her wallway. One day we just popped in and the art work wasn't up!!! I asked where it was and she said that she had taken them down to dust and hadn't put them back up yet!! Being at primary school I swallowed it. But thinking back I think that was a lovely tale to say why they weren't up on the wall. Tell and share with all of us your tall tales please

The one story that my grandmother used to tell that remains the freshest in my mind is of her journey to school, and I'm sure that everyone's grandparents used to tell the same story. It was, when I was a little girl I had to walk to school. It didn't matter if it was sunny or raining. It didn't matter if it was cold or hot, I had to talk to school. I had to walk to school one mile each way and it was uphill both on my way to school and on my way home. I even had to walk to school uphill when the snow was up to my knees.

Lovely story .... BUT.. I am really looking for Tall stories or nice lies your grandparents or parents told you so they didn't hurt our feelings. Another Tall story I used to be told was eat your crusts and your hair will grow curly. I'm sure you have a tall story you can share and look forward to popping back to read it.

I really wish there were some of those that I could tell about my grandmother. However, that just isn't the kind of person that she was. She was very candid about everything, from the fact that she told my mother that she was an accident when she was still a young child to the fact that she came out and told me point blank when I was pregnant with my son that I was stupid for wanting to bring another child into the world.

My Nana used to make us "magic milk". For YEARS she told us that she could make the milk turn colors with "magic".... I don't know why we never followed her into the kitchen... but we were amaized all the time. OH! When my brother and I would fight when we were little... my mom would make us stick our thumbs out, and she'd feel that and be able to tell who was lieing. My brother and I used to try and figure out how she'd do that. I'd ask him his name and he had to tell the truth one time and a lie the other... but we could never feel the difference. And somehow... she was like, 99.9% right about who was lieing! Amazing! haha
