How do you clean your house(with hand mop or vacuum cleaner)

I clean my house most of the times using hand mop and not the vacuum cleaner since I am using the latter it never really clean all those dust which are accumulated inside the floor mat. Thus, I still need to clean using hand mop it clean more quickly although it make the hands dirty, you could see the final results all over the areas is hygienically clean.

I have a maid who takes care of cleaning my house. I live in India and the salary of servants is very cheap here. I have a servant who cleans my house, does laundry, and washes vessels only for 10 dollars. I make around 10 dollars in a month from Mylot. I can use that money to pay for my maid. She does a big part of the work which I am supposed to do. We don't have a vacuum cleaner at home. She sweeps and mops the house daily.

we have a multi level house and we have a cat and have carpets so we have to vacuum at least a couple of times a week throughout the house. the cat fur tends to just pile up if it doesnt get vacuumed.

Well i seem to clean the tile and wood floors int he house every week as they look dirty and there are things that stick to the bottom of my feet. When things start sticking to the bottom of my feet i know it's time for another cleaning for the floors. We have no carpet in the house at all except for rugs. The get shacked outside and then sprayed with a potpourri smell so the house can smell fresh of course. On the area rugs i try and fold them up so i can clean under neath of them then i will get the vacuum out and clean them. We dust every two weeks here as me and my mother both have really bad allergies and this time of year it just horrible. We try and open the house while cleaning so that the germs and other things in the house can escape while we are dusting everything in sight. Underneath things moving the furniture is a must and cleaning all behind everything is a must too as we don't want any dust bunnies around at all. We move furniture about once a month and the other week is just a clean around things while dusting of course.

vacuum cleaner for me it is easier =) i prefer the small ones so it can fit on some corners. =) then wet cloth for windows. =)

Hi, My house is often dirty because a lot of small children. They like to make dirty my house. So that if not immediately cleaned up will look messy. I sweep my house, 2 times a day. Morning and afternoo. Whereas every 3 days, i mooping the floor. SO that the floor looked clean. Have a nice day.

I use a hand mop with a long handle to clean my floors. Squatting or moving around on my knees to wipe the floors is too much difficult for me, so I’ve have this long mop which is flexible and good enough…I just wet it in water and wipe the floors and am comfortable with the arrangement.

I bought eurekha forbes company vacuum cleaner few years back. It worked for three times, fourth time fuse went off. I got it repaired by shelling down Rs. 1000/- and after one use, again fuse gone. Again I got it repaired for the same amount and again the fuse gone. I wanted to exchange it to the new vacuum cleaner of the same company. They told after exchange, I will have to pay Rs.4,500/- more. I thought it is waste of money. More over what is the guarantee that at least this will work properly? So I am cleaning manually. My servant maid says she has dust allergy. She has many objections and rules like dust allergy, steps claimbing problem, cannot wash breakables like glass, porceline etc. So no help for me from her side.

Every few days I use a broom and carpet sweeper which is not electric and easy to use because there are no annoying cords and once every couple of months I will vacuum the whole house thoroughly although the carpets have to be done at least once a month. I wish I could afford a cleaner and a cook because these days I detest both jobs with a vengeance! Cleaning bathrooms and toilets is not much fun either I must say!

we usually just use a vacuum cleaner to clean our apartment.. we only clean like once a month or something, cause my siblings and I are too lazy to clean the apartment... heheheh.. anyway, vacuum is the fastest way to do it, that's why we use it.

Hi Neel, We use hand mop in cleaning the house. we don't have a vacuum cleaner right now so we do it manually. it's fun because all of us are involved in cleaning the house. i assigned my two kids make up a particular corner or area. after the cleaning session my husband will treat us for snacks...pizza or i will come a merienda for them. great family bonding time very productive!

If you can afford to buy a vaccum cleaner, why not? Sometimes, it's necessary to use vacuum cleaner for dry areas, but there's a time that hand mop is preferred to use. Had mop or vacuum cleaner? It doesn't matter!

vaccum cleaner is easier and better way for a lzy guy like me!

Hey neelimaravi In general I use to clean my home by hand mop/broom, but I also use vacuum cleaner while cleaning curtains, sofa corner and places where you can not use hand mop or broom. I thing vacuum cleaner is the best option than hand mop. pkc3000

Hi neelima, I am using hand mop to clean the house and we don’t have vacuum cleaner at home. Since we are staying in rented home we opted out many things just for the convenience of shifting work. We are cleaning our house on everyday basis and deep cleaning is on Sundays. In city there is much dust and we have to clean it on weekly basis. I think your home must be in a pleasant atmosphere and there won’t be much dust so monthly deep cleaning is enough.

The day to day cleaning is one by a maid hired by me. The cleaning job is done with the help of vacuum cleaner which gives a neat look. With a small grand daughter at home and a special child at home i cannot maintain a very neat and tidy home often. Happy mylotting.

Vaccum Cleaner. But we use it on our carpets. The other parts of the house, we use the broom. We hardly use mops. We only use it in the bathroom.

Hi Neelima, Everyday we clean the house by hand mop, For removing the fine dust we use vaccum cleaner, so small dust particles and all will be cleaned. I usually keep all cleaning things only on weekends since i will be free only on those day.. Have a great day.

Hi neelima , i used to clean my house by using hand mob only. I am very comfortable with that only. In case of vaccum cleaner , we have to maintain it properly. We can use vaccum cleaner for cleaning tiny dusts in the sofa sets , chairs etc.
