Do you devote 8 hours each night to sleep. When you get less or more of 8 hours of sleep, how do you feel the next day? I am groggy, un-focused, and grouchy.

Hi, everyone. I prefer not to sleep more then 8 hours a night(day), because so you s about 1/3 ofyour life and if we sleep more than 8 hours, for example 10 hours a day that means, that we more than 2/5 of our life. Someone could say: "Yes, but if you sleep more you will probably live more.". And what than? What if we sleep 10 hours a day and life to 90 years old, or we sleep 7,5-8 hours a day and life to 75-80 years? What? I prefer sleeping a little bit less(well, not less than 7 hours a day), but see more things on this world. Yes, it's so when we sleep more, we miss more things, and what's the point of the long living, when we couldn't see and the half from that, that the others, that sleep less have seen. For me the optimal limit is about 7-8 hours a day. Than I feel better, happier, in better form than if I sleep 10 hours. If I sleep 10-11 hours a day, after I wake up I feel more sleepy, Idon't know why, but it's so. I feel like I've slept only 3-4 hours. Even the coffee doesn't helps me. So I'll say it once again- better less(but not overdo it) sleep and more to see, than more sleep and less or nothing to see.

I never get 8 hours sleep a night as my children put up a fight every night to go to sleep so by the time i get to bed i would be lucky if i get more than 6 hours sleep less than that alot of the time.I am drained of all energy which makes my day miserable all the time.

It is 1 o'clock right now. And I have to get up at 6 o'clock. So I am going to sleep 5 hours and I know I won't feel miserable tomorrow. I always sleep this short during the week. In the weekends I catch up.

Personally, it is not so much the length of time that I sleep, but the quality of sleep that I get. When I have a stuffy nose from allergies, I tend to snore and that keeps me from completely resting. Those nights, it doesn't matter how long I sleep, I still wake up tired. Then there are the nights that my senile old dog barks at anything and everything that he thinks went Bump in the night...... (rolling eyes) ...... Aside from that, I usually get between 7 and 9 hours a night, depending on the time of year. In the summer months I tend to sleep less, but as the nights get longer, my body seems to go into hibernation mode.

Usually I get 9 hours of sleep, and at most 12 hours. When I lack of sleep, I don't feel cranky and all that stuff. I'm mostly the same.
