Do you know the 100 most common words in the English language?

hi gardengerty woohoo I Aced the thing I had one hundred fifty so got all the one hundred words. wow I did not think I could do that. what a feeling. I am not as dumb as I thought I was. i love brain games and go to a mental fitness class every friday' afternoon here at Gold Crest. I really do do pretty well too if I do s ay so myself. I try to do this so I will not get senile or get alzenheimers disease.

Yes, I like that sort of thing. I got 67 before the timer ran out; but it is late and I am a bit tired, so I did not use a strategy before starting. Immediately I realized that I was not remembering which words I used already, so that slowed me down. Then of course I thought of more after the time ran out

Has to be a lot of boring words on that list. the, to, it, etc. I'm a word game person, my husband is a math game person although we both like clue and things like that. I like www.freerice.com , but I think I've told people that a few times by now. Not really a word game, more tests, but it involves words and feeding people, so I like it. It's fun to find games you like. Glad you're finding some. Brain games are supposed to keep Alzheimers away.

Hey Gerty! That was hard! I only scored 41! And I could have sworn there were some that I had put in that didn't take! But, who was I going to fight with!lol I love brain games! But, then sometimes it ends up making me just feel not as smart as I think I am!lol But, it still is fun! Thanks for that one!

I got 63 only. At first I thought I have to write next to the numbers. As English is not my first language, I am happy with the result. The first word I typed was 'I' he he... and followed by 'you'. I could do more, but maybe next time he he... I like brain games because the feeling of achievement is different from normal games. This one after I have finished, I could really feel the satisfaction that I have learned something new and become more knowledgeable. Thanks!

That was really hard to do. I am disappointed too, I only got 43 words. I do like brain games, one of my favorite games is Scrabble, I love that game.

Good morning, GardenGerty! I love games...fitting the time in for them is another thing. I truly am thankful you have given me this link, my son will be off my back now! He is forever chiding me for the fact, that the only game that I play is "Free Cell", which of course, came with Windows. My fear has always been, that I end up with so much "internet garbage" cookies, etc., after I have been on sites, it takes forever (or so it seems every morning} to run a sweep. I know that I am missing a lot! Just a quick aside, but got an e-mail (Snopes checked)that awful "Hallmark" card thing is running around again...so DO NOT open anything that says "Hallmark" card, even from your best friend! Mind games! I love those kinds of games! I have tried that trivia quiz test that you posted and surprisingly I got 55 out of the 100. When I saw the words that Ive missed, I went "".LOL Those really were the most common words used. I actually use quite a lot of them myself. That's why Im also slightly surprised that those words didnt come to me during that test. Well, it was good fun and I have explored a bit of the site. Im actually in the middle of a test when I remembered that I still have to respond to your discussion. I finished the test first since there is a time limit. Im going to enjoy taking all the tests there, even the entertainment ones. Thanks so much for sharing this site!^_^

I love brain games! I really enjoyed the game. I do alot of the free word games online from time to time. They are such fun and being a writer they are great! I thought I would score much higher also. I think I got about 30 or so. The first time through, haven't tried it again. Fun though. Thanks for turning me on to yet another thing to keep me busy and to send to friends and so forth.

What fun I did very badly, I am not good under pressure, but I did get all the colors of the rainbow, in another game. That one was much more my speed. Thanks

I got 79 out of 100 but there were words that I typed in that didn't take. I know this for sure because of opposites. It was a fun game and I was surprised I knew so many and the computer wouldn't take them all. Interesting challenge. This will keep our minds active. LOL

This was a lot of fun, and also a lot harder then I thought. Wow. I thought I knew a lot more of the most common words in our language but I was wrong! I only got a 40 out of 100.... I probably could of gotten more but I gave up and pressed quit on the timer. lol

I do like brain games. That is the reason I like being in mylot as it provides enough brain exercise for me. I sure look into the link that you provide to give me alternatives. Thanks
