http://www.wyff4.com/video/21641142/index.html My favorite news station posted this video of a cat messing with a cop. The wording cop patient with cat. It is a cute video that tugs at the heartstrings & gave me the thought...cops aren't all bad!!! Not knowing if the link would work, I went to youtube to see if I could find the same video. As luck would have it, I found it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_3mNnjP_mo The youtube video is titled Cop Kicks Kitty in the Head. It's the same video EXCEPT this video is longer & the cop either tosses the cat away with his foot or he kicks him. The video ends calling it animal abuse. After watching both videos, what do you see??? How do we know if what we see on the news or on the net is real??? It has become so easy to edit what we see to meet the needs of the person posting it. I used to think I knew what I saw. Now I'm NOT so sure!!! Have you noticed the same things???

I found the video very funny. The cat is so annoying I cant say that it's an animal abuse. I never seen a cat like that it is so cute.

Yeah, and I thought all cats are just some lazy animals who do nothing but eat and sleep and scratch stuff all day. I am a dog lover by the way...

I don't see any excessive force or police brutality here at all. I agree that the one tape is edited not to cover up, but avoid, what the other video is trying to inflame. The news video kept it in the context it should be..a cute funny story about what a cop encounters during his day. It was kind of a nice break from the news clips we usually see of what a polce officer deals with.

Had the cop actually kicked the cat in the head, I don't think the cat would have kept coming back for more!!! It was almost like the cat was attacking the cop!!! Poor little cat must have been starved for attention!!! Oh well, that's another story completely!!!

I agree. I think the cop was just using some "soft cop force". He was lucky he was not impatient towards the cat. All cat lovers would be slamming him now..XD

I don't see the cop abusing the kitty. If he were going to abuse the kitty I think he would have done so much sooner as when the kitty started climbing his leg or when the kitty got in the way of his writing. As I see it the cop is brushing the kitty off him. Then when he got ready to leave he brushes the kitty away so it won't get run over when the casr drives away.

Here in Georgia, you're being kind if you scoot an animal away with your foot & don't drop kick it into the end zone!!! I'm not so sure the cop was protecting the cat from being run over as protecting himself from being clawed again!!! I did NOT see him abusing the cat either. It just bothers me that BOTH videos distorted the truth to their own end!!!

Ok, I laughed my butt off at the first video.. seems like the cat doesn't want him to write that ticket.. lol When I watched the youtube video.. I could see the kick wasn't really a kick but a shove off.. he was trying to get the cat away from the car so it doesn't get run over.. I don't think the cat was hurt at all because it still gets up and runs after him.. Unless he wanted to take a bite out of him.. :) I started to wonder.. Maybe the cop happened to pull this car over right in front of his little farm.. and the cat knows the cop... but probably not.. I just can't see one of my cats being that friendly with a stranger. Although My cats do climb up me- my kitten climbs up my back to sit on my shoulder. If I bend over for anything I have at least 2 cats who will jump on my back because They think I created a great spot for them to snooze. But I think they would need to know someone for awhile to be all lovey dovey with them like this little guy.

I think you are right!!! The cat comes running up out of a field & heads straight for the cop. Since the cop didn't respond negatively, I kinda assumed they knew each other. It did look like the cat was trying to stop the cop from writing the ticket. I really enjoyed the first video as it made my heart smile. The second video kinda bothered me as I didn't see the cat being abused. I simply saw a man trying to keep cat claws out of his skin. I know from experience that it hurts like hell when a cat climbs your leg. I don't know that I would have remained that patient with a stranger's cat!!!

It all seems real to me and to be honest i felt the officer kept his cool rather well. I feel he could have threw the cat at many points and he really did not. I also seen that he remained calm even though I hear nothing in terms of sound from the video. Thanks for sharing this I also just shared it with my boyfriend and him and I both seemed to laugh at this really. No harm really done here I see.

I didn't see any abuse either. When I saw the news video, I said "awwwwww" & giggled. My first thought was wondering why he didn't throw it across the field. You know those claws hurt like hell!!! Then I went to youtube to see if I could find it & bookmark it to watch again later on & they showed him doing what I considered shooing the kitten away with his foot. Then at the end it said something about stopping animal abuse. I didn't see any animal abuse, but did see the video being used to their own end by BOTH parties involved. The news station tried to control our thoughts by not showing the kick at the end. The youtube tried to inflame the general public by indicating that something had happened that just hadn't happened. Then I got ticked off at BOTH!!! I am perfectly capable of watching a video & coming to my own conclusion. I don't need the ending altered to make me think good things about the cops & I sure don't need some clown trying to make me see abuse when none is there!!! In reality, the kitten was abusing the cop!!!

What is the cat's problem? It keep keeps clinging on to a creature that does not want it and even receives a kick. It must be hungry or something! And nope, that may not be animal abuse. The cop doesn't want the cat, he's just shoving it of him. How people react to the video is when the news version of the video has decisive parts ommited. Cool...

I didn't understand the cat in either video. First off, he came running out of nowhere directly for the cop & all but attacked him in both videos. With the first video, I was expecting the cop to boot the cat out of there, but it never happened. With the second video, I saw the cop respond as I had anticipated. I did not see him abuse the cat....only protect himself!!! Most cops would have shot the cat because it might be rabid. So, I thought this cop handled it well!!!
