My Mum sends me a Parcel about every 8 weeks with some goodies in from Germany lol as she lives in Germany with her Husband Well Gissi loves Parcels, he seems to think they are ALWAYS for him and dances about till I start opening the Parcel, of course the same today when a Parcel arrived from my Mum I started to open it, I had to use a Knife to help along, well twice the silly little Man nearly lost his nose, did he care no, he just sat there and looked as if to say 'Come on, open it, I know there is goodies in there for me' My Mum will always put goodies in for Gissi to lol So I just sat there and looked at him, then told him that he had to let me open it and not to put his nose there as I had to use a Knife, when my Mum wraps her Parcels she wraps them well, (I used to hate that at Christmas) So anyway, I went to carry on opening the Parcel and again the little Man was there with his nose, so I stopped, well Gissi was fed up with waiting, he jumped on the Parcel and started digging it, I could do nothing for laughing, went to get the Camera and as soon as he saw it he stopped lol as he does Well I eventually got it open, first one in the parcel of course was Gissi, he got his bits out and walked away with the Packet, Gissi knows what is his and what isn't, I have always been amazed at that When I come home from shopping, he will go through the Shopping bags to find his Goodies, he will not touch any of the Food in the bags unless it is his and then he will sit nice in front of the bag where he found his Goodies Well today he decided he would get the Goodies out of the box himself lol He is so impatient though when the Parcels arrive lol but this is the first time he actually jumped on the Parcel trying to open it himself lol Guess I was to slow for him, what do you think????

We all get excited when a package arrives. I guess Gissi was overcome with delight when he saw the unopened package! The little guy was only lending a helping paw. Big huggers to you!

DOWN Gissi!!! Do you have any idea how upset Mum will be if she hurts her baby??? Patience is a virtue my furry lil friend!!! Your treats will taste just as good an hour later as they will right this second!!! They might even taste better if you wait a few minutes. Mum's gifts should come FIRST!!! So take a chill pill Gissi & let Mum do her thing!!! She ALWAYS shares with you or gives you most of hers. So, I repeat...DOWN Gissi!!!

That is so cute. Every time I come home from the store, Sherlock sticks his nose in the bags. They are plastic bags, and I'll hear rustling, and he is going through every single bag. He does the same thing with my purse. I'll look at him and he has his head in my purse. But he only touches the things for him. Like treats, little play toys, or chew toys. Dogs are so funny.

Extremely smart. I know people talk about how smart cats are, and they truly are. But dogs are amazing. Every day Sherlock does something that shows me how much he understands, and he finds ways to show me what he needs.

LOL Gissi apparently thinks us humans should be able to use all four 'paws' to open packages like he does so he gets impatient when we can't and then have to use instruments to help open them as well. Long as the stuff in the parcel isn't fragile, go ahead and let Gissi open them from now on. Least then you can save yourself the trouble of doing it and be humored by his antics as well. You need to learn to be really sneaky with the camera like I have to with my furbabies, Gabs.

Hahahahaha! I could picture Gissi doing that! Maybe he knows that Christmas is near and is overly anxious about receiving his presents? I would have laughed myself silly watching him trying to open the parcel himself when you weren't fast enough. My two little girls do the same whenever I receive something in the mail. They'll bark like crazy until I bring it in the house, running around in circles until I sit down with it. Then, they have their noses all over the box trying to find the best way to open it the fastest. There is hardly ever anything for them but they don't care. They just get excited because there's always the chance that they'll get something yummy. Maybe they feed off of my excitement because whenever I get a package in the mail, it's something that I've been waiting for like flower bulbs or vegetable seeds and I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. Whenever I bring groceries into the house, they are all over the bags and will sit and vibrate if they smell the bag with their treats in it, waiting for me to pull them out and give them one. Maybe it's a little dog thing? My girls are Maltese, 5 and 7 pounds. They just LOVE when new things come into the house... parcels, people, food, anything at all. I have to ask this question now. I think I remember you talking about where Gissi sleeps, but my girls take turns sleeping on my pillow wrapped around my head. My sister-in-law has a Shih Tzu who does the same thing. I'd love to know if that's a little dog thing, too.

Hi there Mentalward Your Girls sound adorable lol Gissi actually goes in a Huff if there is nothing in there for him lol I think this sleeping on the Pillow is a little Dog thing because they are so little and they can find more comfy places just like Cats can lol I have not heard of a big Dog sleeping on Pillows none of mine ever have they either sleep next to you or at the end of the bed so I guess it is a little Doggy thing

I once had a 150 pound Rottweiller who slept anywhere he wanted to. He would sometimes walk onto the bed and just take it over. This dog did not have to jump onto the bed; he was so large that he walked up onto it like you or I would walk up a stair. And, it was hard telling him that it wasn't a good idea. The funny thing about him was that, if I reprimanded him for anything and shook my finger at him, he would cower and put his head down. I'm very glad he didn't realize that he could swallow me whole if he wanted to. LOL

My cats know which shelf has their goodies and will point at it more or less. They will stand in front and meow, and ignore their food til I get them some goodies. I think that pet treats just have a really special smell.

Well Gaby, we all know how clever our little Gissi is. Now if he had just sat there watching you, you would have panicked, thinking he was sick! Right? Of course! So our clever boy let you know that he is just fine! A laugh a minute! That's our Gissi.

Well at Christmas I used to always have gifts under the tree for my Reggie...well his last Christmas my daughters husband got a video of him.....my daughter was trying to get his package open and he was growling and snapping at her.....he just wanted his treats! I can't believe how much they know.....that's one of the things I miss about not having a dog anymore....they are funny and such good company! Maybe someday when I don't travel so much I'll get one again....I am sooooo tempted!

LOL gabs! That's so cute!! He's a smart little fellow but gosh, he's so cute!! When hubby and I had two cocker spaniels and the chihuahua that we still have, they'd go nuts when I received a package too and think it was for them. Now when it wasn't, I'd have to tell them "noooo, it's not for you" and they go sulk so I'd give them a treat to cheer them back up. Hubby and I always sang "happy birthday" to them on their birthdays and still do with all our other furry friends. lol They just love it and go wild! lol I can't say the cats like it but we sing to them too nonetheless. We even hung Christmas stockings for our pets and on Christmas morning we'd say "Awwwwww! What did Santa get for you?!! and boy! they went wild!! They jump on me and then do their best to get what was theirs in the stockings! lol Oh the memories we have with our pets. Cherished memories.....

Gissi sulks if he finds nothing in the Parcel that is for him, my Mum once forgot to send him something and did he sulk, Mum did not realize till after she had sent the Parcel lol But yes they all have their own ways and every Dog I have had always knew when I go shopping they would have a treat brought back for them

Gissi is far to clever by half, as you were taking so long he became impatient, its funny how aninamls always think it something for them, when I go shopping and come back, my two cats will come running sniffing at the shopping bags till they find their treats and yet how do they know its theirs as its not even open,m can they read by any chance? love and hugs. Hi Karen it certainly is My Mum has been sending me them now for a couple of years and I always look forward to them as she also puts a little something in there like this time she put a little Candle holder in as she knows I love my scented Candles last time it had a Squeaky Toy in it which baffled me a bit but I put it on the shelf only to be told when I spoke to her it was for Gissi lol, so she sent me a little fluffy Animal in the next one lol
