It is true, beggars are choosers....

So, I sit back and think to myself now as the holiday season approaches. I am 100% sure it is going to be a tight one for me this year just as it will be for many due to the downfall of the economy and the overall prices of the objects in stores nowadays. However tight it is I know my little guy will have some gifts under the tree. I am lucky that he is younger. Expensive electronic equipment is not his thing yet. He would be happy if I bought him 20 matchbox cars at .99 cents a piece and wrapped each one individually. But if he was older and no longer believed in Santa Claus I would tell him what needs to be said. Mommy can not get you those items right now but as we get more financially stable we can talk about it. If you want an allowance to buy it we can talk about that too. My problem right now is that I just got done going over the wanted ads on craigslist.com. I understand that maybe asking for handouts to at least give your kids some form of a christmas is the only thing some people can do. But seriously. If you are asking for a Christmas tree - DON'T tell me what kinda I have to buy you. If you are asking for an IPOD, but it HAS to be pink, don't anticipate I will read it. And I am not going to give you my laptop - although you will only take the darn thing if it is a Toshiba - because I have no desire to help those who demand specifics with what they want for FREE when the item itself may cost anywhere between $300.00 - $1000.00. I am not rich, I have very little to give, but if I can I will. But I just don't understand how people asking for handouts can be so demanding. Does anyone else ever see this and get frustrated or do you think I am way off line to think that people should be able to demand what they want for free when someone is being charitable enough to give it to them?

That is just unbelievable. People having a hard time even asking for IPODs or laptop computers. I can see asking for some thing for young children but asking for costly items is just too much. Maybe I'm to practical but I'ed be asking for school supplies and clothing. I don't think your way off line. I just thought of something maybe we are going about this all wrong. Maybe we should be doing some asking on craigslist. i sure could use another car.
